Season 5, unfair matchmaking?

Ever since season 5 has started, I have found that I have been playing with really low skill level players. Usually in s4 I would play with Silver-Plat players but now it feels like the skill level has really gone down. Has riot reset "mmr" or "elo" even in norms? I would like to hear your guy's opinions!
