Unusual ping

Recently I have been having a lot of problems with the gameplay in League of Legends. My ping is usually 235-240 as a guy playing from Europe but this last week my ping has spiked to 450-500 , and the worst part is , I sometimes forget so create a custom game in order to check my ping and when I start the normal game I have to stick to this ping , cause I cant leave. The gameplay is too painful and not enjoyable at all. So I want to ask , is this a common problem happening now since the transfers from and to NA are disabled or am I the only one having this nightmare
