Do people not understand how Nemesis Draft works?

From what I have gathered a lot of people do not seem to realize how Nemesis Draft actually works. You ban the champions you do not want on your team/do not want to use. I have seen multiple times people asking for champions like Soraka to be banned and when I ask why they reply with "she's op" or "she's annoying".

Are you serious? Just don't give the other team Soraka then.

And what is this automatic assumption that an entire team of "support" champions will lose? You do realize that champions who are strong in the support role are strong because they provide utility and are useful without the requirement to build many items, right? Meaning that if you put an entire team together that is a bunch of champions that have a lot of utility, heals, and CC AND they can now build items, that you'll have a bad time.

I can't grasp the communities mind set when walking into this game. It's almost backward.

Just had a game last picks gave enemy Heimer and Viktor while we had an all melee team. The fk are these guys thinking?

Another time we had 4 melees and they give them Janna and Nami. What the hell???

And I just got into two champion select screens for Nemesis and.. I kind of got into a small argument with a team mate about Soraka. They wanted her banned because "she is bad and only good if she is with an adc" and "you won't get adcs so she is bad". Again, ADCs = good, support = bad. They obviously have never used Soraka. Soraka is a strong champion if used right, and built properly. And again everyone keeps giving Janna. Why is Janna considered so bad? And the other Nemesis game my team gave them Lulu and Leona because "give them all supports". Okay. Because all supports are bad.
