Teemo Rework Idea
Creations Hey guys! My name is Spoopy Gengar, and this is my Teemo rework project.
Okay, before I dive into my ideas about a rework let me preface this by stating a couple of things once again….
I'm NOT a game designer
I'm NOT the greatest LOL player or top laner.
And this rework proposal is NOT perfect
However, I think that regardless of that I am a teemo fan. He was the first champion I've ever played, he's always been super fun to play and I enjoy his adorable little voice!
With that said...teemo has some problems. These problems haven't stopped me from loving him, but in MY OPINION, if he ever we're to get a rework, this is how I believe the people who like his kit how it is, and people who want him to have new toys to play with can find a middle group.
In order to get to that point let's start with his problems.
No escapes, CC, or high enough damage to compensate for the lack of. Unlike many other marksmen you have only your “Move Quick” ability to get you out of bad situations and no real CC to keep you out of trouble. With practically every new champ having one of these 3, teemo feels shallow in comparison.
Not much utility to make up for the lack of team fight pressence. Yes, I know you can team fight, but other champions do teemo's job way better with little effort in team fights. So he needs the ability to either participate in team fights more, or find a way to contribute to the team in other ways outside if team fights.
Very little to back up his “lore”. When I play a champion like zed I feel like a ninja, and when I play gangplank I feel like a pirate! But teemo, he doesn't feel like a scout at all. He's just kinda awkward when your think about it. And as a new player I played him because he was cute. But now that I look back at him, there is so much potential for him to have an amazing kit that makes you really feel like a marksmen scout!
With all of that out of the way, let's get the the abilities so you can see what i thought of.
Teemo's Abilities
Passive - “Gather Intel” - When an enemy champion dies, the champion drops a “clue” that Teemo can investigate for 3 seconds. After gathering Intel on his enemy, Teemo obains a “Profile” on the enemy champion for the rest of the game. He can only investigate out of combat and clicking on the characters icon when the profile is obtained starts a “Mission”
Passive - “Mission Start!!!” - When Teemo starts a Mission, Footprints appear towards the direction of the target champion and Teemo gains movement speed towards that champion if alone. The mission is successful if the champion dies, and a failure if Teemo dies. If Teemo succeeds in the mission, he gains bonus gold, and the cool down of “mission start!!!” is decreased. If Teemo fails the mission, the cool down of “Mission Start!!!” increases.
This is an ability combining a little bit of Warwick W and kindreds Passive. An ability that makes you really feel like your scouting for your team and being the stealthy marksmen who works alone.
Imagine a jarvin ganks your lane and you kill him. How I imagine it, the body would be highlighted and you use your passive while on top of the body to investigate it and gain a file on the jarvin. Now jarvin is screwed, Because if teemo's ever missing on the map, he has to worry about you using your passive and finding you in your jungle and killing you with his new abilities*
Q - Combat Specialist - Passive: Teemo with his arsenal of weapons, can adapt to any situation. When at the fountain, Teemo can switch the darts that he uses on his Q. The Darts available are dependent on the rank of this skill and are unlocked each rank of this skill. He can only have one type of dart at a time, and can only use a certain number. He can refill his dart at the fountain.
Rank 1. Blinding dart. - Obscures the enemies vision Abe does AP damage.
Rank 2: Armor Piercing Dart - Gives Amour Pen and deal AD Damage
Rank 3: Sleep Dart - After a short delay on hit puts the target to sleep and deals AD damage.
Active: Teemo's dart deals damage and has an effect dependent on the dart equipped.
This makes teemos kit more dynamic and can help him in certain matchups that teemo struggles in.*
W - Toxic Shot - Passive: Teemo's basic attacks deal bonus Ability power and Poison his target. targets suffer from Poison for 4 seconds, with subsequent attacks refreshing the Poison duration.
This is ability is the same as before.
E - Guerilla Warfare - Passive: Teemo’s Abilities and Action's can grant him “ The element of Surprise”. This allows Teemo to become invisible and gain attack speed after exiting stealth. If he stands still for 1.5 seconds without acting or being acted upon. “The element of Surprise” Will stay active so long as he doesn't move, doesn't act, or is hit with a CC ability. If within a brush, Teemo gains stealth after 1.5 seconds even while moving and may move freely within its boundaries without breaking “The element of surprise”.
Passive - “The Element of Surprise” - When Teemo breaks stealth, he gains the Element of Surprise for 2 seconds, granting him 20 / 40 / 60 / 80% bonus attack speed and doubles his bonus movement speed plus preventing it from being disabled by damage for the duration.
Active: Teemo Throws a smoke bomb, Gaining “The element of Surprise” becoming invisible and gaining movement speed that scales with the rank of this skill.
This will give teemo a much needed escape! Use this as a way to exit a gank, or as a combat trick to hide from your enemies*
R - Noxious Trap - Active: Teemo tosses a Noxious Trap on the ground, which stealths and arms after 1 second, lasting up to 5 minutes. While armed, mushrooms grants vision around them. Mushrooms can bounce if thrown on top of another mushroom. This can only happen once. If an enemy steps on a mushroom, it detonates, Poisoning the enemy and slowing them.
I'm keeping this ability the same but would add more vision and maybe less damage since i think it should be used as a utility item more than a damaging one.*
I purposely didn't add ratios and numbers for the abilities because this is meant to be about getting a general idea of his kit. So if you had an idea of what the numbers should be, let me know in the comments.
This is the Second iteration of my rework idea, and I hope you guys like this one better. I worked really hard on it, and hope we can make it even better.
Is this kit perfect, I doubt it. But I thought it would be fun to put ideas out there to see what we can make Teemo into.
I hope this turns into a cool project that can be updated and maybe riot can see what we thought of, that would be cool!
