Asking junglers who are better than myself for advice

Long story short, I'm editing some item sets and trying to figure out which sustain start for which junglers: Either refillable potion, or three health pots.

Is one inherently better than the other and I shouldn't even consider the other option, or would it just vary for each jungler.

The reason I'm thinking on this is because the other day, practicing my Vi jungle, the refillable potion just BARELY didn't give me enough sustain (Literally one punch from finishing off Red buff), then it executed me, and well it kind of went downhill from there.

3 Health Potions is worth 450 health. The Refillable Potion is worth 250 health. Most junglers who need sustain only need it for their first clear - and need it badly. After that, whatever levels and items they have after their first back are enough to let them clear safely for the rest of the game.

The only time you should buy the Refillable Potion is when your Champion needs long-term sustain - Evelynn, for example - and you intend to cut your first clear short and upgrade to a Hunter's Potion. Though the Hunter's Potion immediately solves jungle sustain issues for basically any Champion, it's a huge gold investment, and limits your first clear because the Refillable Potion is completely outclassed by 3 Health Potions. Thus, in the current meta, if your Champion will need a Hunter's Potion for long-term sustain, you basically shouldn't bother playing them (i.e., Evelynn). Wait for additional Hunter's Talisman or consumables buffs to make them a viable pick.

going with normal potions is always good on the low sustain champs for the early game that have a hard time clearing without that third potion, say evelynn for instance takes alot of damage early in the jungle and needs the third potion to get off well. but on the other hand you got a champ like skarner than can clear decently fast has cc and a sheild, he doesnt need that third potion, so the refillable potion would be a better option. so in short if you dont feel you can clear the jungle with out that extra potion go for potions, if you play a champ that has good sustain, then get refillable. you ask a very nice question by the way, be more than happy to talk to you more about it if you wanna add me. :D

never start refillable. It is a bad item in its current state.
