So, how heavily countered is Master Yi jungle in competitive/ranked?

Played a bot game with him. He's as strong as I remember him in season 2 (casual play) ! That both fascinates and excites me a bit..

so yeah, if I wanted to play him ranked, starting from no division or anything this season (season 6, in case this is a result of a google search years from now), how heavily countered is he? He's fun from that one game, but more important I feel he's worth learning.

My backup junglers are Nocturne and Udyr. I have, in order, the most experience with Nocturne, then Udyr, then Yi...in any position. So yes Nocturne most experience.

Casual / Normals isn't really the equivalent of ranked success. It would have to depend on your jungler skills.

Depending on how bad the enemy team is, Yi can be a threat that wins or he just gets melted. Can you main spam him to climb? Sure, but there's plenty of people that might pick him or his counters.

You probably need something more than just more backup junglers as well as being able to play another position. You have nothing set for AP with the prevalence of AD marksman, Yasuo, and Zed laners, what will you do if you need AP?

Hmm.

ADC: Caitlyn, Tristana AP: Annie, Diana, Ryze Tanky top: Mundo..others escape me.

I have a 74% winrate with Yi. I started off in B3 now I'm S3 (about to be). Not sure when I started playing Yi though. People counter me, not well. I just build HP/Tanky and I get the damage done.

Interesting. You mean tanky in the sense of BotRK and maybe Sterak's Gage?

No bork is my always. My MUST HAVE items are. Devourer, Guinsoos, Botrk.

Depending on where I am in a game, I'd get duskblade immediately after. But if I can't survive, after bork I'd get HP, like Steraks, Titan Cleaver, Frozen Mallet, Deadman's plate.

if ur worried about getting counter jungle'd, there's a simple solution

sell ur jungle item when you got enough gold for BF sword, go full damage from there. It works well

He get fcked by alot of junglers..he has no dash (easy kill for someone with mobility), he is pretty predictable, has no pressure as jungle. All he can do, is farm and hope that his team won;t feed to much. he can do stuff than, but not very reliable:)..I personnaly, find him a pretty bad jungler:)

Sounds like a jungler who needs a premade and good communication with the team..

Tbh you can do very well with Yi with a bit of game knowledge and carry yourself to diamond... provided you know what to do, when you can fight x or y, your powerspikes, the good calls to make, etc. Yi's the kind of champion where you can stop thinking that much about mechanics (there is still a little bit to learn, how to reset auto properly and fast with W, and then it's decision making when is the best time to use Q,W to dodge or tank something) and try to see the bigger picture. Though you'll be farming a whole lot, I suggest you try to watch a lot what's happening in the different lanes while you farm. I usually take TP-smite and go farm mode. And sometimes there are good opportunities for TP ganks. If you want to have the best success, you kinda need to farm heavily until you get strong. I personally don't get rageblade and get botrk instead. Typically when you have item 1415 +item 3153 or item 1415 + item 3124 you can start really having a strong impact in ganks and go looking for kills/objectives.

Yi is extremely good when you don't trust your team and want to carry alone. By his nature, he doesn't really rely on any support from his team and can splitpush or try multikills with his resets when he's fed. He's one of the best champions in lower elo to hardcarry.

For items, take devourer (must buy, synergy with E's true damage is absolutely insane), one or two offensive items, defensive boots and tanky stuff.

The common build looks like item 3047 item 3931 item 3124 item 3742 item 3156 item 3053

I personally prefer item 3931 item 3142 item 3153 item 3047 item 3143 item 3156 . Higher damage, lifesteal. Better to snowball if you're fed, but quite less tanky overall.

Sure you can carry yourself to diamond with Yi.

But you're only a diamond V _Yi _ then. The rest of your skills are nothing but ass, waiting to be smashed. Taric

It doesn't make you good at the rest of the game.

It actually does. People that think the game is about mechanics make me laugh. This game is 90% game knowledge, 10% mechanics. You can be awesome at mechanics and still be trash elo if you have poor decision making, understanding of what to do. You can have 0 mechanical skill and be high diamond, even challenger.

In low elo, I could go Lee Sin devourer botrk, miss 50% of my Q's and still win because I know what to do.

I found the Yi mainer!

He is fine as long as you quick farm to 6 (use the newest S6 route) and pray your team knows how to properly play lanes so you can gank after 6. He CAN carry at low ELO for sure though.

i mean it depends on how good the people you are facing. To truly be good at something it takes a lot of practice and knowledge so not only do you need it but your opponents must have equal or more to beat you
