Shen Ult on Clones

Hi, I just played a game as Shen in which I accidentally ulted my allied LeBlanc's passive clone. Shen's ult description is: "Shen channels for 3 seconds, granting the target allied champion a shield that lasts up to 5 seconds. If the channel completes successfully, Shen teleports to his target, placing himself between them and the nearest visible enemy champion." So I'm confused as to whether Shen is supposed to be able to ult clones such as LeBlanc's passive or Shaco's ult (haven't tried this latter interaction) or if this is a bug? Thanks in advance!
