How can I be less toxic

I've been playing League for a while now, and I can't help but notice how toxic I am sometimes. I usually don't realize how negative I am, but afterwards I look back and think I could have handled it better. I used to get banned quite often, but now I get chat restrictions every so often, which can be helpful and not helpful.

It usually stems from my teammates doing something I feel is ill-advised. An example would be "stupid" engages, not taking objectives that should be taken, no followup, etc.

I don't consider myself a bad player, and I do my best to try and explain to my teammates what I am doing and what they can/should be doing in certain situations. I feel like the toxicity arises when I've explained several times and still my team doesn't want to listen.

If anyone has any tips on how I can better myself I'd appreciate it. Please do not comment saying "stop telling everyone what to do" or just railing the thread in general. League of Legends is a team game, and some communication is usually necessary. I just want to be able to communicate in a more positive manner.

Just don't care, but try to win. Don't distract yourself with typing to them too much. If you're devoting too much attention to that, then mute them instead.

Get off the internet until you can figure out why you are so sad in life.

Do what i do...download the program called "keytweaks" and unbind your enter keys. now, you will still be punished like i jsut was with a 75 game chat bban even though i've never spoken a word in ANY match ever but atleast when u get to perma status it wont be approved

Well let me ask you a question: When your ADC is 0/7 by 10 min, what is the first thing you say to them?

I mute people if they are talking too much shit to us or the enemy opponents. Because honestly most people won't and don't want to understand something. Also, I find the less you care about winning, the better you'll do. I don't know how many other people are like this, but the more frustrated I get the worse I actually play. So if I can stay calm and chill, I'll do much better. Win or lose.

One, don't throw around insults. Not saying you do or don't, just, people won't listen if you say what they did was 'stupid' or 'dumb' or 'noobish'.

Two, if you get angry, which I do, don't take it out on them. If no ones around, just let it out by yourself. Grit your teeth, do whatever, it'll all be gone when the match is over, win or lose.

Three, people seem to respond more effectively to pings than the chat. If you think you should do Baron, ping 'On My Way' and 'Assist Me'. That's more likely to get them to your side rather than uselessly farming minions after that ace.

I know how u feel... I play on a $2000 set up and still go badly negative every game.

At the end of the day im guessing your like me;

  1. enjoys thrill of the chase
  2. If i don't try i don't know
  3. im not going to leave my teammate to die
  4. I can steal this drag/baron
  5. Objectives more impotent then KD
  6. think your team is with u... but they are not The list goes on and on
