Gaming becoming worse and worse

Started playing this game 5 years ago and I've thoroughly enjoyed thoroughly, until about season 3. I took a 8 month break during season 4 because league was sucking up too much time and I come back to play with friends for about another 6 months or so and again another break. I started playing again about 2 months ago and I've come to realize that the game i loved and spent so much time and money on is barely playable without constant flamers, AFK's/DC (intentional or not) and so called "Diamond smurfs".

It seems that i can only get a game where either the enemy team or my team doesn't have an AFK or flamer by 10-15 minutes one in every 10 solo games (solo-queue and normal combined) or if i play with friends and even then, since OCE doesn't always have high numbers of players or available players at a time it's very common to get matched against a team that has 3 or 4 premade members that will rage, flame or in some vary are cases still, AFK due to this solo player possibly not giving the mid laner blue buff, for example.

I'm not saying this is just in OCE because i have also been in Europe and played LoL on both EUW and EUNE through low level accounts and i find the same issues as back on OCE, but what is worse is that these players that i play with at A LOW LEVEL are extremely rude and tend to flame even more than the players at maximum level and they behave this way to the poor new players who are just trying this game out.

Now i'm no angel either, I have flamed and afk'd before in my LoL "career" but not to the point where i receive a chat restriction or longer than a 3 day suspension and even then i don't go ahead and make a low level account to insult and make new players feel worse about themselves. I still love this game and care about it and that is why i am having this rant.

I'm not sure how Riot can fix this but it is a huge problem in the community and i know these are very vague and plain examples but i'm sure you all know and understand how i feel after spending so much time and money on this game only to see it slowly deteriorate.

Anyway, my rant is over. Thanks Riot for making this awesome game but i think more and more people are starting to turn their back on LoL due to some brainless people.

P.S I doubt these issues also have to do with elo as you can experience these from any where between Bronze 5 - Diamond.

The player development team has never had its priorities straight. They waste time with minor offenses like flaming so they never get to address real ingame issues like trolling and throwing.

they made the decision a long time ago that going 0-15 in 20 minutes and voting no surrender is better player behavior than going afk when being stuck in a game with said 0-15 player, and never looked back once.

Riot's doing what they can, with some very effective systems being put up, but obviously they can't fix everything. Why is it people have so much trouble being nice to each other?

Happened to me while learning the ame. So many toxic ADCs... But its happened in many games. I played a HoTS game and one player raged at the team because we lost. *HoTS was released at the start of this month, so really new game.

In ranked almost every single game I get my teammates flame, afk, argue and feed. I went 4 games in a row with AFK teammates once. And this is all in silver 1

here is what I do. I main support and never play with ADCs I cannot talk to via skype or in person. That serves a double purpose: better communication and not getting matched with an ADC i do not understand and one who does not understand me. I then act like I have no teammates besides them, except when jungle occasionally ganks my lane. me and my ADC act in sync the whole game, in teamfights, pushing, objectives, etc. I assume my allies will not protect my ADC, and my ADC assumes there is no one else protecting them, as this is often the case. Its not perfect, but i still have fun playing.

I would be happy to play normals with you, dear OP, and promise I only flame very rarely, if at all. I am more likely to just not use chat, which I know is sometimes just as bad, but i still ping.

I think it comes down to expectations from other players, I don't except much, and very rarely do they fail to me my standards...
