Could Riot actually please Revert/Rework/Buff Shaco? (Patch 8.11)

Croc46··4 votes·2,074 views

On my opinion, ye he is actually trash (begin patch 8.11). Here are some possible changes are think wouldn't be bad :

Passive/Backstack : I quite like the Crit on it, but make the Passive Scale with Crit Chance. Make it Scalings (+100% Base AD) (+45% bonus AP) Remove that its affected by CD, Make the CD to Crit the Target to 2 or 2,5 Seconds.

Q : Make the Q invisibility to 2.5/3/3.5/4/4.5 Seconds. Increase Q base dmg to 20/35/50/75/90 (+65% bonus AD) (+70% bonus AP). Set the CD of his Q to Flat 13.5 secs, his next basic attack after using his Q which reduces the Q CD should be activated the whole invisibility, reduce the duration by 2 seconds. Increase the Mana cost of Q to 70.

W : I don't really have a problem with Shacos W, but reduce the CD of it to 14 and make the Stealth/Activating to 1.5 Seconds.

E :I think his E is the biggest problem right now, it just does 0 dmg, like really 0. Obv. that his E Scalings are actually pretty good, but his max. e base dmg is 50/80/105/130/155, could Riot please increase that dmg? maybe to 75/115/135/165/190? (took a look at zed q). Make the E dmg Magic again.

R : His ult has a big problem too, I think. First of all, remove this boxes after the ult, they are so useless... Make the base dmg of his R to 250/350/450 (+65% bonus AD) (+85% bonus AP) Set the CD of his Ult to Flat 90. (Edit : I think Flat 100 Sec would be better.)

Hope you will vote this up, I rly wanna get a better Shaco. Let Shaco become an Assassin again, not that Offtank shit... When you're NOW behind, you almost cant get ahead and you just have to farm...

To all the people saying Shaco is fine.

He's not.

He's not even close to "fine". He needs a rework more than any other champion in the game right now. Not because he's broken or OP (though he is fairly strong, even with all the nerfs) but because of all his fundamental design problems, including, but not limited to:

  • Too much power is concentrated in his Q, meaning the rest of his kit needs to be kept weak to compensate
  • He is EXTREMELY feast or famine, even for an assassin. Shaco is either 1v5ing the enemy team or leaving his own team in a 4v5.
  • He is one of the most item-dependent characters in the game. Shaco's burst comes almost entirely from itemization because the numbers in his kit are so pathetic. This means he is always abusing anything he can to frontload his burst into a single auto-attack + E combo. Dark Harvest, Triforce, Duskblade, Yommu's, Shiv, etc. This makes for a very linear playstyle and is frustrating to play against.
  • He has a terribly noticeable identity crisis. Shaco's thematic is supposed to be a chaotic assassin who uses tricks and mind games to deceive the opponent and win through psychological pressure. Shaco's current kit does not represent that thematic at all. Furthermore, the notion of a "chaotic" assassin is a difficult juxtaposition to abide in a game where randomness and unpredictability are frowned upon.
  • His visuals and VO are out-dated. This is a lesser point than those above, but still relevant when considering a rework.

Shaco needs quite a lot of work before he becomes a healthy champion, and it's a shame that Riot has left him where he is for so long, because it's obvious that neither Shaco mains nor the rest of the community are happy with his current state.

Shaco is fine.

Shaco is way more than fine. I'm not even sure how any of the crit changes could have affected him at all. He doesn't build them. He's an early invader, so he should excel with the scuttle changes.

Honestly, despite being an early 'invader', he mostly relies on his gimmicks to pick off someone on low HP anyways. He's terrible at actually fighting someone 1v1 early on (assuming they aren't dumb and don't get 'clowned on').

I say this as a Shaco Main. Any popular jungler (Xin, Jax, Lee, Udyr, Kha, Graves...) can usually deal with him as long as he isn't three steps ahead of them. Then again, that's the point of playing shaco, isn't it?

Everyone knows Shaco's not in a good state. He's not unplayable, but when tank builds with him are honestly doing better than his assassin ones, it indicates something's wrong with him. His itemization's gotten wonkier and wonkier, and he's lost a lot of early game power. Nerfs to AP Shaco came too, and hurt what was arguably his best assassination spec.

Honestly now without IE+Shiv burst, idk what I'm going to actually build yet on him lol.

Edit: I WOULD like to note I do not agree with OP's changes however. They are honestly absurd buffs that would completely make him over the top. And you know what happens when Shaco's even remotely good for a patch? Well, let's just say he's not laughing very long.

I guess I've never seen Shaco build IE + Shiv. That could be a consequence of my elo though. I always thought he built Ravenous + Duskblade for that burst. Come out of E stealth and AA that proc + activate ravenous = win. I guess I didn't know he wasn't a good scrapper either. Did he just capitalize on being able to safely engage them from stealth on their camp that they were doing?

Last Season, before he got the 'Rework' at the Assassin changes, almost everyone built it, cause the burst was so incredibly high.

Yup! That's precisely what he does. The reason he is considered such a 'strong invader' is because he can clear Blue Buff without taking any damage due to his W, and then Q onto someone while they are doing raptors, red, or golems and are likely lower HP by this point in the jungle.

He's a sneaky bastard, but beyond his initial burst he really only has basic AAs. A large portion of his damage can also be negated by making sure he can't backstab you (If doing a camp, stand with your back to the wall!)

Idk what u mean, but shaco atm is fine , SHACO <3

People who say that "shaco is fine atm" must play in wood division or must have a low mmr. Maybe it can be good in gold division cause people still missplay a lot, but above u can feel that there is a big lack of dmg and possibility. Riot never loved shaco, but after rework they have keep fucking it every patch. We are not playing shaco atm, we are playing items like duskblade tiamat. Do a good rework of shaco, or give us the old one.
