A Strong Request for Riot, please, equality..

I can't even explain how i feel right now, i just had a game as Nocturne, i understand some people will say that it's just team comp ad or i played bad, but as a noc main, well now. A EX noc main, i feel that some champs are fair, it's like saying every champion is equal, but some are just more equal than others. I had such a difficulty ganking any lane, because of how long my ult CD is, having a kayle and vi on the enemy side means i get bursted instantly with no chance of doing anything what so ever. "Then just go tank!" well tell me, how can i achieve anything as tank? i have two cc, a fear which require me to stay with the target for a whole one second, and one "blind" which is useless. DONT START WITH HOW "ITS BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO USE IT". THIS, THIS IS THE PROBLEM, CD WAY TOO LONG TO PIN POINT A GOOD TIMING TO USE IT FOR THE DARKNESS EFFECT, AND THE DARKNESS EFFECT DON'T LAST LONG ENOUGH FOR ANY ACTUAL BENEFIT FOR TEAM. Its true sometimes i do have good games and carry, but i do that MUCH much more often before, where nocturne do have a impact on the game. His late game isn't even as good, so early game and mid game is where your suppose to shine, and honestly hes pretty squishy. Ok i know this is turning into a complain thread, but i think this shouldn't be over looked, not only is nocturne like this, there are more champs that are just not "equal" enough to step up to the game.

If im just a really bad nocturne, someone please step up and teach me, i was actually dying a bit inside when my vayne said: "noc is a bad solo q pick"

TL;DR : Champs like noc are underpowered and riot should take their time to make all the champs equal.

That brick of text.

Btw, are you new to league? you think every champ should be equal? well thats what balance is, its a scale that tips back n forth when you buff something and nerf something else. Problem is Noc's ut is way to long, too short of range, his E fear takes a second or two to actually get off and in the mean time you dont get any other form of cc.

Nocturne doesn't have hard CC/"lockdown" that is currently super popular in the meta right now, but I personally think he has decent engage and gank/countergank potential with his ultimate, as well as good follow-up and general teamfighting with his passive and standard abilities. He's best at catching people way out of position or away from their teams, so ganking top or mid during the early game (with no or little threat of immediate countergank) is a good way to get him started; during the mid and late game, his kit lends itself to shutting down solo split-pushers and immediately following up on a teammate's engage in teamfights.

I think taking Nocturne as laning champion is a mistake. Even though the majority of his kit is only really usable against champions instead of monsters or minions, I think his passive, his attribute and build synergy is best suited to take him jungling. Even though he is super squishy really early, the right runes and masteries go a long way to countering a lot of the jungle's damage or using his passive plus the regen in Machete to bring it back.

From there, it's basically playing and building items the same way as you would for Master Yi: tons of attack speed, some lifesteal, some AD, some movespeed, more attack speed, on-hit damage, armor pen, and so on. You won't have the one-shot nuke power of most assassins (Katerina, Zed, Yasuo, etc) but you can absolutely wreck face basically using the same build.

Don't take Uberdanger's builds super seriously, but he does briefly highlight the Master Yi playstyle in his Full AD Nocturne video.

But moving on to your later point: Riot does need to go back and bring some of their older champions up to scratch against some of the newer champions that have better skill and item synergies (for instance, while I think the numbers on the new Sion kit are underwhelming, I absolutely love the general idea of the Sion rework, and the new Sion's already seen play in the NA LCS despite his lackluster stats). But does Riot need to level the playing field? Not completely. Are certain champions or classes of champions overpowered? I personally despise the likes of Yasuo, Katarina, Zed, and Akali that rose to prominence given the nerfs to mana regen (that sort of didn't work given Riot's intentions with the nerf). But generally, I think the state of the game is pretty healthy, and I think Riot will make the game healthier as time goes on, especially now that they can better recognize and treat "diseases"/causes rather than merely treating "symptoms"/"nerf this singular OP champion" of unhealthy gameplay (RIP DFG loljk you won't be missed).

Yes you are correct, but like i said before, nocturne feels too squishy to be a assassin, and not enough burst to be the "assassin", feeding off lone champs is almost the only way, counter jungling is too high risk and sometimes champions like jax or udyr is capable of just fucking you up when you try to stop them split pushing even though you are suppose to be also a really good "duelist". Thank you for the explanation, what i am just bitching about here is just that my fav champion feels like poop, and im just super sad about it.
