Why do people hate Riot so much.

I am a somewhat new player. Level 10, a few champions, just playing random games. I never notice any op champions. I can wait a few minutes to play a game. But why does the rest of the community freak out about this stuff?

The number one reason is that they don't listen to the community or tell us what they are going to do . . . . for certain things they know is going to get a negative opinion about. If they communicated their ideas to the community better and asked how they can change their ideas into something that everyone can be happy with, Riot would be well received. It's just they don't listen and are incredibly stubborn.

The entire ADC update. The removal of events and event themed skins. Wasting time on champions and items that didn't need rework and time on. They just don't listen.

For me it's less hate and more about years of decisions I've questioned starting to boil over. For example I've got no faith in the rework team, particularly on medium or larger reworks. They lost my trust.

However recently riot seemingly adding extreme arrogance in their decision making (DQ) to their unwillingness to undo past changes that were mistakes or needed reverting because things changed to me seems like they are setting themselves up for a fall.

Compared to other companies, they let their game get out of control with features. Features they couldn't manage to keep (i.e. Dominion, champion updates, balance) weighed them down over the years.

TBH, Riot just wanted to do too much at one time and now they are so ALL over the place that I don't think a single thing about this game is balanced. Everything's either OP or broken.

The game was WAY more fun with the small roster of Champs they had since they could easier balance or cater to specific roles easier.

Almost the same as politicians are usually hated (or at least they are where I'm from)

Riot is a large company and needs to take into account a large number of factors. Riot also needs to change their game. The combination of those two mean that somebody will always lose out. Maybe your favourite champion is changed in a way you didn't like. Maybe you were matched with somebody you feel like you shouldn't have been matched with. Everyman and their cat thinks that they could do a better job than Riot because they get upset at the changes. This fuels other people who are angry and makes it appear worse than it actually is (people who are emotionally invested, especially negatively, are more likely to do something) while also leading to a 'Riot is stupid because I could run the game better' mentality. In combination with that many people do not understand why things were changed at all. So when something is changed they want it changed back. When Riot does not (because they had reason's to change it in the first place) people feel like Riot isn't listening and is arrogant.
