Jhin Well for me i think jhin mid is more op, i played him mid and hes so strong, jhin= run man! With jhin's ult no one can escape from him ;). You guys think he would be better adc or mid? Because some people say hes better adc but he's strong too mid...

I can see jhin ending up a mid laner due to his ability to trade well with apc champs, and being mid lane against one other opponent leaves him great opportunity to use his ult to kill fleeing opponents with relative safety, he can even put up his own "wards" with his e in both bushes to give him a chance to escape ganks before they happen. Bot lane however, he is highly dependant on his support preventing the other team from closing the gap, his weakness at close range is comparable to, if not worse than Varus. He would be incredibly vulnerable to champs like zed however, so it might not up being a thing.

Definitely Mid, reason being - He's actually really bad against ADc due to being unable to output a constant dps like adcs do. He has poke and some waveclear but if he ends up in a situation where he has to duel with an adc and can't run to safety he straight up dies.

Id say mid, that's where I play him most.

Not lane his DPS can't keep up with enemy adc, and not supports often force those situations, you'll likely lose a duel.

Plus enemy sup often blocks your shots/ult, and you usually can't get in range of enemy ADC to use your crit shot, and its ineffectual vs a lot of tankier supports. Just too much gets in your way not lane.

You really need that mid lane 1v1 situation to get off your poke and harass.

Mid is the better option adc is meh and a very boring support for literally stand there let him farm cause he can't trade well so

No one can escape from him but his ult is blocked by anyone in front of the target, kinda like Cait. I think the only thing a little dumb about him is his traps are invis. Like, how are we supposed to "watch where we step!" if the only way to see them is with a pink ward? It's a little retarded in lane imo.

XxTimeXPentaxX1 votes

Yea someone can block it but if you are a good sniper ;) and ya his traps should not be invisible, but when i take him its nice to see people walk on them.

I believe the blocking will have to come from an experienced, i.e good, jihn player because lately all I see are Jihns that pop an ult in a team fight on whoever is low in the back, thinking he's gonna snipe that ho. Doesn't work. But 1v1 Jihn ult, laaaaammmmeeeee. Can't get away.

XxTimeXPentaxX2 votes

yea 1v1 it's not a good idea, jhin's ult is good when your team is with you or when somebody try to escape you with low health.

"mid" and "adc" arent mutually exclusive.

mid is the position youre playing in, while adc (attack damage carry) is the type of champion jhin is. he can be played mid as an adc.

i think what you asked was if he should be played mid or bot. the anser is, both is possible. certain supports like morgana have really good synergy with his w. but he also has enough range and burst to compete with the champions usually played on mid lane.

yea my bad i forgot to explain bot lane because jhin can mid adc too haha and well i think the same thing as you, but in a ranked game would you go bot or mid ?

I would be delighted to play support to a good mage in bot lane (Say Lux Mage/Morgana Support lane, absolute long range poke and CC wreckage) if we have a reliable ADC in mid. A lot of people don't pick up on that however and i've noticed a trend towards full or almost full AD teams because of this, since there aren't many AP junglers in the meta right now. Quite the shame really.

A Mage that I think could work OK in the bot lane would be Cassiopeia , and it's because of that passive of hers. With two targets in bot lane, she should be able to stack it up much faster than she currently can in mid lane, giving her a boost in power despite being down on levels.

I think Riot has definitely made Marksmen viable everywhere at this point, now it's time to see if the other roles can be so versatile.

Snip

I've done quite a few cheese bot lanes that worked amazingly well (most of which working with Sona because she's my main), my record was 17 straight wins with Karma/Sona in bot lane, Karma being the mage. Still in low elo mind you, so half the win was because people had no effing clue as to how to counter us. Thresh/Blitzcrank is known to be abominable cancer, and a few others. As far as the rest goes, most spammy, low cost mages can do well in bot lane, like Ryze who could take monumental advantage of being teamed up with any high-CC support.

Yea a team of ad it's not worth ahah

Tbh I would prefer to see Jhin in the middle lane because of his high range - high damage and somewhat low dps. However in the bot lane, if Jhin is your main source of attack damage, you might be a bit on the low side without a corki mid or somethin

That doesn't even make sense. Even building full AD, Corki's damage output is 90% magic. Even his basic attacks get converted to magic damage.

hes not a DPS adc. obviously because of his statik attack speed. hes a burst adc. like graves. nah even graves has better dps than him. hes probably better some where else

I say mid because i haven't seen one good adc jhin so far

He's good for mid just cause of his poke and sniping. I've non-arrogantly shat on a Jhin in practically every game he's been in as ADC.

MrBuffington1 votes

I don't think it matters, but either way you're going to have to build a team to compliment him. Because of that, I think it's more flexible to play him mid, since you'll have another DPS in bot lane (if you play him bot, you can always take a Corki or something mid lane). Jhin takes towers/objectives pretty slow (unless it's late game), and overall seems to take a long time to scale up (they might balance this a bit more), so he needs a team to help with/work around that.

If you've got a good poke/engage support, Jhin is a demon in bot lane. It's usually hard to hit the enemy adc with the last "whisper" crit, but if the support pokes or engages first it often sets up the perfect W stun so you can just waltz up and crit shot them.

It just depends a lot more on your support getting the setup ready for you.
