So I was talking to my friend (IGN: PiwiNinja) about ranked and we both just finished our promos for solo/duo queue. He won 7/10 and I won 5/10. However, he got Silver II I think? and I got Bronze 5 even though I won every single match I think I should at least be Bronze III or II did this happen to anyone else? Now I have to scratch and climb the board.

OmManiPadmeHum1 votesthis was a hot topic right when the season started. It all depends on what your "invisible" MMR rating was during last season and preseason. Yes, you might have been silver 2 or 3 last season, but if you lost a bunch in a row towards the end, and then only won 50% of you provisionals, b5 might be the spot.
Here is what happened to me. I was B2 at the end of S4 (didn't play much during the year due to it being nice out and being outdoors and just other stuff). That being said, during preseason I worked myself up to Silver 5. Called it good, knowing that I could get there relatively easy, I just started messing around with champs and different metas. I lost like 9 in a row before the new season started. I went 4/6 in provisionals (3 afk games...bleh), and I got put in B5. Currently sitting in b2 now (actually skipped b3 somehow).
TLDR: you can work yourself out easily if your skill level is mid silver. And your placement not only matters what your MMR was, and not only your 10 games, but in what order you won/lost those 5 games. it's weird.

If I had just played 10 ranked games starting from 0 i would be in B4 already. If my mmr was really that low, I shouldn't have been able to win 7 games. Below is what I put in my thread. I would really like someone from riot to explain the logic in their system.

have high cs? (297 highest, average 200) check
win more than you lose? (7-3 in placements) check
don't feed? (17-4-6, 4-3-3, 11-5-13 KDR for my 3 losses) check

I did read it and quote
"For example, a player who was division V and lost a lot of games at 0 LP last season will see those losses reflected in their placement this season."
I was B4 not B5 before season ended and consistently had similar stats to the ones i posted above but gained 15-18 LP per win. I did manage to crawl my way to silver last season, only to discover S5 players are no better than those in Bronze and fell right back down. Imagine crawling your way out of this Bronze cesspool only to be placed with midlaners that have 50 cs after a 40 min game.
The problem is isn't that I was placed lower than I felt I deserved to be, its that I was placed at the absolute bottom. Basically riot is telling me that after winning 7 out of 10 placements that I am absolute trash and there is no worse League player than me.

Wood 2? If you weren't right next to the very bottom than you wouldn't have been placed at the bottom; it was entirely on you to raise your rank and MMR before the season started, so why are you blaming everyone else?

If MMR can fall that low then there should be a wood division, I've accepted my situation and I'll deal with it but I want Riot to admit there system is flawed, and address it and maybe take steps to fix it. I'm not the only one with similar complaints, consider this a customer service issue.
I'll repeat I AM NOT BRONZE 5, I know people come on the boards and whine about how they perform well and can't win but they are usually shut down once someone does some fact checking and discover their claims are grossly exaggerated. I've given solid proof, I've hard carried as a ADC, a role many say is the hardiest to carry with at this level. With a ADC that takes some level of skill and is not considered top tier (no graves,corki, tristana) I've gone 2-2-18 with a support that people consider so bad that it is currently up for a rework. I've shown that I can jungle competently. If Riot feels that I am Bronze 5 level or even Bronze at all (some of the BS I've seen from S5 players), then something is wrong with their SYSTEM not me.
