It's the perfect time to buff Vayne

I think it's universally agreed that Vayne is in a bad spot right now, ever since the itemization changes making IE a top tier item when it doesn't work so well on Vayne.

With the overflow of tanks last patch brought, I can't be the only one having trouble dealing with pure tanks (be honest, when was the last time didn't see a Sion/Naut/Sejuani either picked or banned). Vayne is the ultimate tank killer, no other champion does it as well as she does, but she isn't viable, I think buffing her is a rational direction to prevent tanks from getting out of control.

AP Varus is ultimate tank killer. 600 ap means up to 51% max health damage, if my math is right. But normal Varus is pretty good at it too.

She still does her job of killing tanks really well, and now that they're going to be making a comeback in the jungle Vayne will become more popular as well to counter them. As long as she has %HP true damage for free on every third attack plus mobility on a short CD, she'll be doing her job just fine.

  • No good first item.
  • 250g Oracle's at level 9.

Who cares if you're a lategame carry when your primary gimmick (stealth plays) is obsolete before the 15 minute mark? At that point, you might as well pick Tristana/Kog'maw/Jinx.

Buff Kog'Maw instead. At least he is immobile and doesn't go invisible. Way funnier to play against than vayne

Excuse me? Vayne is one of the most common picks, and that certainly isn't because she's "universally agreed to be weak."

Vayne is supposed to have a weak early game to compensate for her very strong late game potential. Shes not Lee Sin, therefore there needs to be identifiable weaknesses to balance out her strengths.
On a side note, as an adc main, there are advantages to building BotRK first if you can keep your opponent from getting a BF sword on the first back.

I like Vayne. She's my favorite champion. But her spot atm is cruddy. It's not that she's overbearingly weak per say. It's that there's nothing in this game that she can do that you cant get done better than another ADC. She used to be the dominant hyper carry. Now we have Jinx, who has a decent laning phase and superior range, wave clear, and AOE freaking rockets that can crit. She is less mobile, but she also has a lot o self peel options and a lot of freedom with her mini gun and rockets to compensate. It is very hard to lock down a good Jinx who is behind her Maokai and Nautilus whereas Vayne has to be a lot closer to the action. Then there's Kog Maw who delivers a similar late game prowess. There's no point in picking her atm when there a multitude of other champions who deliver the same performance with less risk. Not to mention the fact that the current meta emphasizes mid game ADCS over Hypercarries who take a 2-3 items to be relevant (eg Corki, Kalista, etc).

Vayne is amazing, what are you talking about? In solo queue she is one of the most popular ADCs for a reason.
