Can you jump divisions when duoing?

If you are gold 5 premade with a platinum guy and you keep on winning having a MMR that lets you jump divisions. Is it possible to jump, or do you have to be solo?

if the person you are grouping with has high enough MMR, and your average together is well above where you belong, and you consistently win at that new MMR, you will probably skip ranks in the process.
