I lost LP over a friend having a client-sided glitch

I was playing solo queue with a friend, and something happened where he couldn't connect into the game (continued to say "game is in progress"), so the game was remade.

To my surprise, at the end of the game, I lost 16 LP. After contacting player support, it seems this system is intentionally in place to prevent duo partners from abusing dodging/ remaking. Although that is understandable, it's not understandable for me to be punished for a client-sided glitch that occurred to my friend, and caused a remake for the first time- ever. I understand the system has no direct way of knowing if it is malicious abuse or not, as made clear by the support team, however I believe that a first time occurrence, EVER, is a clear indication it was not abuse.

The support team was unable to help me out in anyway, so I just wanted to bring attention to this system in place and share my story/ frustration, as I lost the time and progress of a win for no reason, and not to mention, my MMR seems like it was affected negatively as I lost more LP this time than normal.

Incredibly frustrating, especially since I've won so many games recently. I hope someone can help, or atleast put me in the direction to provide feedback about this system and how infuriating/ unfair it is for players that are clearly not abusing the system.

I sympathise with you mate.

Maybe the system should grant a "free pass" and not lose LP for a remake after 100 duo games with no such occurrence ? And obviously not in promo games.

What do people think? The person responsible for the remake would get the LP reduction, but their premade wouldn't provided they were not in such situation in their last 100 duo games? Sounds unreasonable?
