Disable Mastery Emote Option

Just as you can disable all chat to prevent inflammatory messages, I think Riot should create an option to disable seeing your opponent's mastery emote. As a company that prides itself and preaches non-toxicity and friendly relations, they have added taunts and spammable emotes, which are used to flame and harass. If people wanna have it on, fine, but I think it should be an option. People utilize the mastery emote as a version of teabagging, standing over a dead champ and spamming while taunting, which is very bm.

Grow up.

I agree with you that it is a douche move to spam an emote at you after having made a successful move in the game; However the value of the emote is that it gives people a way to act like douches in the game i.e virtual teabagging, or to signal a "hi five" to a participating team mate.

Riot obviously sees some value in having the emotes exist as a kind of trophy, therefore the emotes must also be made to have value themselves. That value is derived directly from your annoyance.

I.E. what you are asking is directly against Riot's self interest.

I know this is an older thread, but if I had the option to turn off mastery emotes on the enemy team I would absolutely use it. Maybe they seemed like a cool reward when they were created, but people are just abusing them to shame players after outplaying them.

Please yes, if I to lane against another Trashuo who is 0/6 and spams his lvl 7 I am going to fucking find him and shove his anime body pillow down his throat.

Couldn't agree more.

Similarly, you should be able to disable the joke / dance animations too. Ever played a match where someone (either team) spams thier emote over and over and over again, non stop? I very nearly had to afk from a match once because my own damn support did this. In the end I just killed the audio because I couldn't concentrate with whatever annoying laugh it was going off constantly in my ear.

More generally, players should be in more control of the experiance. Give us:

  • Disable allied chat (in addition to disabling all chat)
  • Disable Mastery Icons
  • Disable Emote animations

That way, I can just play the game and not have any chance of either seeing player toxicity or BM, or hearing it.

Either that, or - like you can't ping more than X times in Y seconds, implement the same for emotes / masteries. Same logic: It's distracting and annoying and can be abused. There should be a system to counter it.

Or you can stop being such a wuss?

Later this month:

Title: Riot should not show borders on allies

Description: it makes allied players tilt since we are not as high, and if they dont have a border it makes us assume they are bad.

I only use my mastery emote as jhin if I land more than 3 shots with ulti . And when I win the game and the enemy team were good guys I lift my mastery medal proudly to show that I've improved. but I agree I once met a fizz that spammed his lvl 5 and I counted 47 TIME!

Riot makes it a statement that toxicity is unwelcome in league. But they also advocate competitive banter in a non toxic way. Showing your mastery emote is not toxic.
