I still remember how great this game used to be.

I've never used this forum, so it's probably my first and last post. I have played LoL since the first day of Beta, i loved the game since the first tutorial with Ashe, and got to play it every day during many seasons. I remember the champions were very original and unique, things were simple (not that crap they made with runes lately). I lost the joy for this game when it started to become more stressful than fun, but what made it worse was the ammount of things Riot changed in the game. Back then, we had a patch periodically, after that, no major changes, this way we had time to get used to all of that. Nowadays, i see patch after patch, and the latest major changes to gameplay were like... no comments. Every champion now released seems a joke, from the gameplay, skills, to the animation and textures. I'm sorry, but sometimes i have the impression that since few years ago, Riot has fired (or lost) most of their employees responsible for the creation of new content. It's really sad, because i still remember how great this game used to be.

Growth kills every long term game. But stagnation kills them faster.

money kills. growth = money. and what do people believe in? endless growth.

nothing is endless. instead of being happy of a stable, vibrant and happy community, every company just wants more and more. they think they can just endlessly get more and more players.

you have 100 million players a month? good. work on just keeping them. stop trying to make the entire planet play your game with your dumb changes.

I agree with you. But i believe there should be a proportional relation between Growth and Quality. The game has grown a lot, but the relation seem to be inversely proportional, and that's my point. Few years ago i learned some important designers and developers had left Riot. I know how hard is it to replace good employees, because we are facing the same thing right now in the place i work, so there comes my theory, and if i had to bet all my coins in finding the culprit of this decline, i would blame managers.

The developer ruined this game by greed and greed alone. They could give 2 shits about the game and the community and that is what has ruined LOL. They only see dollar signs and continue to allow bad players to infect the game. Argue all you want but truth is truth. RIOT has not one damn thing to be proud of anymore. They are just another company who only care about green and not the player base. We need new developers who stay true to their vision. RIOT is not that company. Can't wait till the next best thing comes along. WTB a developer who cares about their game and actually takes pride in it.

They have to hire content developers and the only way they can keep their job is by implementing changes, whether or not the players like them.

can make changes and fine tune things without ruining the core of what this game was.

justifying everything with money is the biggest downfall of humanity.

I don't disagree. Champions are now a shell of their former selves, and champions are too close in mechanics/damage to each other to make new and emergent gameplay a thing. It will result in the death of this game eventually.

it is sad when I play a champion like Vi/shyvana and how powercreep and the changes to game have impacted them.

shyvana cant gain a huge level advantage anymore due to the jungle change. can get a gold advantage, but levels are worth a ton of gold in stats.

Vi has problems. she is just a risky pick. if your team is losing, there is little she can do really. she has to go in to do anything. They just buff he abilities more and more instead of adding some depth to them or giving her some usability buffs.

IF Vi was made today, if you hit your Q on a target, you could cast it again. If you proc'd W, your 1st auto to any champion would auto proc denting blows until the buff runs out. Her E would have a bigger width. Her R would allow her to auto during it or cast abilities.

its just what they do. overload champions, leave others in the dust. i miss the old gameplay. i really do. i play these champions because they are literally a part of the old history of league. what i used to play

playing this game makes me sad because champions literally play themselves now.

champions had simple kits for the most part but your movements, decision making, and when to use abilities is what mattered the most. was really good times.

now we have champions like urgot, who are just turn on W, go auto pilot and move around in a circle, while casting Q and E and doing a big "flashy" R into flash into the team for a fear.

it just feels dumb. i feel like im playing the most dumbed down version of this game ever.

it also sucks when you are playing the butchered role that is jungle, that is literally at the mercy of their laners (at an equal skill level on both sides) to do well or you lose the game. you cannot do anything if somoene is 1-3k gold ahead of you. they can miss all their abilities but because of the advantage in levels you just die.

theres too much damage and sustain in this game. they took away so many defensive options, especially in runes, like scaling armor/MR. What do we get instaed of 9-21 armor and 8-21 MR? 6 armor, and usually 0 mr unless ur a laner vsing a mage, but that means u trade off the armor or offensive, which makes u at a weakness as this whole game is just stack damage and drain tank.

its just dumb. i really am not enjoying this game at all. this season has been the worst in leagues history. last season was pretty bad, but for jungle especially. riot is just enforcing drain tanking. i guess they like the ability to just be oppressive.
