ELO Hell is Real.

Playing in ranked has been a true exercise in frustration. The majority of games in my ranked play have been decided not by good play, but by who has a DC or a troll/feeder. No matter how well a player plays, I may as well roll a die whenever I start a game. You can't carry a disconnect, and you can't carry someone who buys 6 Dorans and feeds constantly using the laugh emote. Reporting does nothing, none of these people will ever be banned. Seriously, at the low levels, ranked is just plain unplayable.

Is there any way to help mitigate any of this? I'm seriously asking, because I'd like to love this game. The actual game seems to be well designed, for the most part... the problem is the people who either play with poor net connections/intentionally disconnect, or intentionally troll. It's impossible to rank up beyond the trolls if you're stuck within them, without having the luck of a lottery winner, as far as I can tell.

For starters, don't blame the teams you get stuck with or trolls. I went from Bronze II to Silver IV in a matter of 20-30 games including promos. Accept that you make mistakes and be willing to learn from them. That's literally all you can do for yourself.

i ended last season silver 2, got placed in bronze 2 with placements, dropped all the way back down to bronze 4 with a string of about 15 losses, then pushed back up and when i got in silver had about a 60% win rate, elo hell is real, but its not even that hard to get out of if you have a skill level even in the mid silver range... maybe with a bit of practice i could hit gold, but seeing as ive ended my 2nd season in a row id have to say im a mid silver player, and low bronze was ezmode

Elo hell is in your head, it's in the heads of all players. You choose if you're in elo hell.
