Chat Restriction, Who Does it Really Hurt?

Hello before we start I would like to state A. No i'm not writing this to be "salty" or to complain only to point out a very realistic problem that chat restriction (especially a lengthy one) causes B. Yes I am unranked but my opinion is still valid so any hate comments will not generate a response.

Now to the topic at hand. I recently came off a chat restriction (yes i do feel i deserve it for a particularly salty game, like i said it's not a salt report) and after a few games being able to speak freely i realized how much better i played and my team played. Here are the main problems i found with the 1 msg per 4 minutes chat restriction strategy. Also near the end i have some ideas for players who are in this dilemma.

  1. 10 messages in a 40 min (average time) game is far too limiting. This wouldn't be as crippling if at least the msg character capita wasn't as small as it is. I found i burnt through the 3 initial msgs within the first 5 minutes establishing jungle leashes, laning, and some half-assed strategy. Then you're left with 1 minute per 4 minutes which inhibits your ability to communicate in any regard with your team without pings, which brings me to my second point.

  2. Ping spam. Sadly one mas have some way to communicate with his team correct? That's usually done with pings, and this can raise a lot of problems. First your pings (even the specific ones {caution, MIA etc.}) are often misinterpreted and can mean a lot of different things to your lane buddy and/or jungle/roaming teammates. Second, your teammates might interpret this as you being a ping trolling douche and either ignore them completely or reply in a not so kind manner, one that might earn himself a spot in your place. Of course this can be avoided by using one of your precious msgs but you need to weigh whether consoling your teammate is worth the potential strategy or gank communication.

Now i have 2 ideas for a way to get around this, without completely removing the chat restriction (obviously). First, Pre-made chats. Why 1 self made msg every 4 mins when you can have unlimited phrases like "Gank!" or "Red buff is down." and other things along those lines. This clears up both confusion and makes it more fair to your teammates who don't think you're a sociopathic prick. Second, one that has been mentioned before, a chat in the loading screen. Now i can't recall from memory if Riot has ever acknowledged this request with an answer but im going to, for the sake of this post, assume not. This may not help later in the game but it can surely save time and your msg quota from those ever crucial early thoughts.

Anyway, sorry for the long post but i've been wanting to discuss this for a while. Like always, comment below if you agree, disagree, or have any other comments RELATED TO THE POST! (no pedobears or trol faces or other half--assed attempts at trolling) Also if you have some negative input or criticism feel free to share it ----->IN A POSITIVE AND EDUCATIONAL WAY

You know, I never thought of that. A drop down with a few common sayings would actually be really helpful. I've gotten so many in a row now that for the past 40 games or so I've just resigned to going /mute all and completely ignoring my team.
