Master Yi Tips

There is a lot really, despite how simple he seems. He's easy to pick up but the more advanced mechanics are hard, and not even I can do it properly after playing him for so long.

A few things obvious things to notice though are:

1. Q to dodge skillshots.
2. W in teamfights to wait for your partial resets.

A few things I found:

1. Do not start a fight with Q. Run to them and (if possible) Q just as they start their flash/dash animation so you can follow them to where they land. Not really necessary in open areas but relevant in jungle to follow over a wall.

2. (personal opinion) Ghost > Flash. If you are camping, it is usually worth it to just ghost to burn flash, and come back again when ghost cd is up because of the significant difference in cooldowns. I almost always burn it on a level 2 top lane gank, and it usually results in a burned flash (and sometimes indirectly, a kill by my laner a minute or 2 later). Also synergizes with your ult for maximum stickiness.

3. Max W if laning. Makes for some high quality bait, and reduces your weak early game. You will be unlikely to be getting kills though, but at least you can cs. Trading is possible if the enemy uses mana, as you can enter the trade, lose it initially but win it later through minion aggro and because you topped up your hp while the enemy wasted mana and lost hp from Q + doublestrike E on top of taking aggro.

Something I've heard about but haven't really tried:

• W is an auto-reset, still trying to figure out how to use it myself in practice tool.
