I'm tired of getting sh!t on (in general, but specifically with Lux).

I just want to not feel useless in my games anymore.

It started with farming chests at the beginning of hextech crafting. I'm an ADC main, and all the champs I own for that role I've earned chests for. I decided to try picking up mid, so I chose Lux, who is supposedly an easier champ to learn. Every game I'm being eaten alive. I try keeping a distance, saving my binding for after their dashes and whatnot, but I keep getting bursted from full health to 0 after my opponent's first back. After that I'm behind, so I feel useless. I have no damage cause I have to build a defense item first, I invite my team to flame me because I lost lane and have to depend on a gank to get back into the game, and what's worse is that all of a sudden I've got a target on my back for the whole enemy team that says "look! free gold!" And what's worse is that I have to sit through a half hour of this.

Is midlane just a bad lane to pick up? Should I try picking up tanks instead? Cause on the one hand, I'd hate to do that because tanks are busted anyway and I don't want to encourage Rito to keep shifting things towards the perpetual tank meta.

But on the other hand, seeing as how I'm in bronze 5 and only play normals, do is it even worthwhile for me to consider the meta? I'm just so confused and tilted. Advice with Lux/midlane/for noobs please.

I swear to god I will report any and all who say, "just git gud." If you're telling me I have to practice, that's one thing, I can accept that. But save the obnoxious troll-tastic memes plz.

Well, lux is a fine pick, don't worry about that. it is kinda hard to give you advice if I can't see how you are playing the mid lane.

I can give you 3 bits of advice

  1. Try to just farm in laning phase and don't die doesn't matter if you don't get kills.

  2. You don't trade with lux if you want to damage the enemy mid. you harras him. meaning you should attack him only when you know he has little to no chance to attack you back. let say you are vs a Yasuo what I would do on lux is this I would keep my distance and farm/harras him. If he wants to attack me he has to dash at least 2 times, such a distance I would be from him that would give me enough time to walk back or bind him.

  3. forgive me :( but I op.gg your account and u are Bronze 5 I have to say it sorry

GIT GUD

Lux is a skill shot based champion, but she can survive lane and make people pay for their missteps.

Assuming you're not vs zed or talon you should always be rushing morello and sorc shoes.

Bait enemies into following you out of lane and into brushes. They'll either back away from you or attempt to chase you into the river or the jungle where you'll have a clear shot of them with your abilities. And they will likely lose vision of you once or twice, making it easier for you to hurt them without fear of retaliation, enabling you to snipe them as is intended with her kit.

Ignore your insitinct to run toward your turret. Your turret will not save you from dives. Enemies losing sight of you is your best defense against them. If you need to retreat back to base, take a path you know will cause them to lose vision on you and then find a safe spot to back or just walk back.

The narrow paths near wolves are prime areas for Lux to bait enemies; so, keep a red down near those brushes so you can eliminate enemy wards there as needed to better set up kills whenever you've successfully baited and enemy.

Lux is an entirely squishy champion and enemies often underestimate her, thinking it easy to instantly burst her.

At least that's how most Lux players taught me a hard lesson not to chase her.

Lux is actually pretty strong in bronze5 because generally the enemies tend to suck at dodging your spells. Learn exactly where they hit (for example q will hit even when slightly out of the hitbox in the center while r is a little bit larger than it seems).

If you are in range to be dashed on you are doing it terribly wrong. Always keep yourself at your max E range and poke the enemy down with it while trying to get Cs too. After eating an E in the face they usually tend to retreat so that's your time to go and proc passive on the Cs to kill them. If they stay proc illumination on them if their engage spell is down. Abuse your stronger level 1 (with illumination you basically have almost a spell advantage) in assassins matchup. Also going defensive on Lux early on is most of the time not worth it cause you are so squishy and immobile you'll probably end up dying anyway. Rushing damage to keep them low enough to discourage an engage is most of the time a better idea. Think of Lux like the Ezreal of the mages, with E in cool down : You poke them better than they do but the moment you get forced in a fight you 're done. For summoner spells run barrier or heal: If you are in an ignite range with Lux something went wrong.

For runes comet is really good and you should place your E slightly behind the enemy so they will get hit due to minion block when they are retreating. Then I recommend either Celerity or Absolute Focus in a meelee matchup (you're always going to be at more than 70% hp.. Or dead. But celerity may help you keeping your distance ), manaflow is a must have to start poking really hard from first levels but ultimate hat brings final spark to an insanely low cool down, then scorch simply because the other options are terrible. As second tree you can go Precision: Coup De Grace for even more damage and Absolute Focus for even more mana sustain, Resolve: Revitalize to enhance your shield and either iron or mirror depending on matchup to have some extra defense, Domination is imho really bad but I suppose you could try Cheap Shot and one of the vision ones, Inspiration: Magical footwear is nice if you are not planning early roams, Stopwatch is wonderful vs burst matchups (get dived, snare under turret, fire R and leave an unexploded E behind them then stopwatch and laugh at them while they either die or burn flash to gtfo from there), cdr is always useful so you can consider that rune.

Build: Rush morello and sorc boots, then start to work towards a Luden or even better if you are fed a rabadon . Consider an early Dark Seal (at first back) + refillable potion: Good sustain and Lux is one of the best Mejai user so if you stack that seal upgrade it. If they have tanks throw in a void staff/liandry's torment. Get Zhonya vs Zed/Rengar and Banshee vs very reliable cc (Annie,TF, Sejuani..)

Stay positive and good luck on the rift 😉
