To anyone who thinks Yasuo is OP

Son, you just ain't doing it right.

People think this game is all about skill and playing whoever is OP (I'm looking at you Darius mains.

But it's really not. It's a lot about counter play.

In a 1v1 what is something most common? You build defense based off your opponents main stat. (Build a randuins against a Yasuo, dummy.) Thats counter play.

Now more then ever counter play is required if you want to get out of bronze.

Yasuo is a very strong pick now, with 2 items giving himself 100% crit. (I used to run 10% runes on him so I don't see a big difference.) But he's not a guaranteed lane winner as some people might think. He's very squishy and weak to hard CC along with the fact that 80% of yasuo players are trash. (If your not Diamond+)

I'm just going to point out some fairly easy weaknesses to exploit that people try to pin as strengths.

Shield: Yasuo received some buffs to this acouple months ago making it more reliable and persistent. And? Nothing. His shield procs for about a skill worth. So why waste a skill on it. If your a ranged champion, auto him. And if your melee, use one of your skills. (Cause I'm pretty sure whoever your playing midlane has some sort of ranged poke) His shield will proc and be useless for another 10 seconds or so. Hold it. Don't be a dumbass and do this in the middle of your wave please. He is mobile because of the positioning of the minion wave, so don't sit in it and give him free mobility.

Mobility: ^ read that last sentence

Windwall: ahh what can I say about this glitchy wall. I love it. It's so good to completely destroy the ranged opposition by blocking practically everything. It's amazing. Oh but that's right. It has a 20 second+ cooldown. Darn. If only someone would actually use their skills when it's down, maybe they would find less trouble trying to kill me. Did I forget to mention fighting yasuo away from his Windwall works too? Try walking away from it, rather then towards.

If it's one of the 20% Yasuo's then your going to have a much more difficult time. They will hide their weaknesses so that you can't exploit them.

But yes, Yasuo's going to most likely going to outscale you. Just don't be the person that fed the Yasuo.

Oh and having a decent jungler gank before the yasuo gets ahead normally works. Cause you know he can't dash threw his own minions.

That's my commentary and advice on Yasuo being op. It just requires a lot of counter play and actually thinking. (I've been playing a lot of syndra mid lately, who yasuo counters. Now everytime I see a yas I know it will be a win, because I know what he's going to do and exploit it, because of counterplay.) he's not that bad 80% of the time, cause they are mostly trash remember! They give us yasuo mains a bad name to be honest. (You know, the ones that played him before he was "item buffed")

Sorry for any errors and lack of pictures as I typed this on my phone while bored.

Thanks for listening and I appreciate any commentary (stupid or no)

EDIT: The non factual commentary was supposed to be over the top condescending and passive aggressiveness as a joke. Sorry if I seem like an asshole because I was aiming towards that. Thanks.

I don't think he's op, I think he scales to fast and too hard. You can be ahead of him in lane and he can outscale you without problem. he can be beaten easily, and if you can make it through mid game you're okay, but that mid game power hit is pretty strong.

I read this thread in like a general/sergeant stereotypical voice xD But yeh Yasou isn't an OP champion he's just annoying that is all :T

PL 1st off, you sound like a condiscending prick. Might want to work on that. 2nd a Yasuo main arguing about Yasuo being afir i a bit of a logical fallacy. I don't think Yasuo is OP, HOWEVER he is extremely unfair and usually unfun to go against. And I'll go over that by your "just counter it"-s.

Shield and Mobility

You may not have noticed, but to go and AA yasuo, you USUALLY need to go into Dash range. Which means that he can Dash onto you. And siince you are ranged, that means he has some melee minions in the middle of the lane. WHICH menas when you try to AA a good Yasuo he Dashes onto you, Q's and keeps fighting if he has the advantage, or dashes back to his minions in lane. And while his burst isn't AS high his shield basically means he will eat one skill you cast at him and if that was you only one for any reason, well... I guess you should have counterpicked him, amirite? :/ This is when it happens next to the minion wave of course. You know, the things you should be killing? Oh, but also the things you need to be away from if you want to "counter" Yasuo.

His windwall, did you mention Yasuo can hit his skills and AAs trough it? Did you also mention it can block an unlimited number of skills (but we can't have Poppy block unlimited dashes can we? #bigplayswindguy) Did you ALSo know the wall moves slightly towards the enemy so Yasuo can pitch in that extra Q?

Having one more guy to throw on the eenmy usually works against just about anyone. it's BS to claim "ganks are a Yasuo counter", because they counter everything other than Swain post lvl 6.

Also, the most annying thing about yasuo is that no matter how behind he is, he doesn't even NEED to be good or do any work for his most impactfull teamfight skill. Just counterplay the Yasuo ult by not getting hit by Malph's!

tl;dr Yasio is not OP but he is one of the most aggravating laners to fight against in most matchups, but unlike most of his "obnoxious laner" compatriots, he also happens to scale extremly well into the lategame. The ddeck is stacked heavily into his favor, more so than most melee squishies in the game, and nothing is going to change that. Especially the passive agressive "arguments" of people like you.

TBH when I play Yasuo against another Yasuo, I typically win because I know Yasuo's weaknesses and exploit them. That's the only way you can win; it's like driving. If you don't pay attention, you're gonna fucking die.

really im the only one that went with the nerf irelia joke? ok ;_; seriously though you forgot to mention that cass' E goes completely through windwall, and older champion's abilities aren't correctly canceled by the wall and will go through it if you don't use it early enough.

Yasuo had like 67% critical strike with only zeal.

"But his critical damage is less than average."

  1. Runes! They exist :D
  2. Infinity edge! This exists!
  3. He has more passives and perks than Sona, Janna and Lulu combined. In one kit.
  4. Want free sustain? Alrighty then just build full critical damage and blow your load on the enemy team, don't worry about healing because you get a mastery that naturally synergizes with Yasuo.
  5. He scales far past most mid laners and in fact he is usually the one doing the bullying. Weird isn't it, that level 2 yasuo is bullying around a Xerath and Syndra?
  6. This guys ultimate can go down to what, 21 seconds? Really? 21 seconds for an ultimate? He has a knock up every 2 seconds if he has attack speed and a dash to eliminate any skill in trying to knock a person up. Just twirl around like a ballerina.

I could go on about how he can eliminate his weaknesses with ease and how he is resourceless. This dude has so much shit in his kit that he could be ripped in half and made into two separate champions. Just thinking about it nearly every lane lost in Yasuos world is him messing up, not the opponent taking advantage of him. He isn't OP but he has an unfair amount of choices against his enemies. When you are "outplayed" by Yasuo, you really aren't at all. He just has way too many choices and assisting factors to make him an early game monster and mid game monster and late game monster. He really isn't in a healthy condition Winning against Yasuo was his choice because he had to mess up really bad to die with the exception of the few counters. (Annie) (Funny how one guy is going around bumping the people that agree with him and then ignores people that using reasoning and logic to create a debate.)
