Why do you still get 30 minute timers for not banning in ranked?

Just joined a rank game. When it got to my turn (last ban), the champion selection disappeared completely. Could not search a champion, select anything, that little pop up screen in the middle was just gone. I could type and talk to my team, but after the 20-30 seconds it was quite literally impossible for me to ban and I am given a 30 minute queue for my next game.

Why the hell is this actually in the game? Why is there no alternative to this

Would you prefer people be able to abuse it by saying 'OMG you guys banned my champion. I'm 'queue dodging' by not picking a ban cuz no penalties!'?

I've had that problem before where a lot of things would disappear from the champ select screen and it would all turn black. Next time, minimize the screen then maximize it again and it will go back to normal.

Just minimize and reopen the window and it'll fix the bug.

The queue ban is to prevent trolls from repeatedly stalling matches.

There is an alternative. It's called actually banning a champion. I understand the problem you had though, feelsbadman but that was a problem on your side.

If I were to make any suggestions on how to fix it, I'd have to suggest maybe chat commands such as; /ban darius, /pick darius, or, /select jhin, /lockin, /summonerspell flash ignite, /masterypage Best Darius NA, /runepage Get Dunk'd

This could offer some alternatives should a problem like this ever arise again. Then again... Riot could actually just fix the bug and prevent it from happening in the future lol.

He/she said they weren't able to because everything disappeared.

I understand the problem you had though, feelsbadman but that was a problem on your side.

This is not a problem on the op's side, this is a bug Riot has because I, too, (along with many other people) have also experienced this problem. It happens randomly.

Try to understand I was really tired when I wrote my comment, and I didn't elaborate on my thinking in anyway. That being said, I agree with you 100% on everything you're saying.
