You mean you actually see Zed make it past banning?
When you get to Summoner Level 4, you will unlock a spell called "Exhaust". It's really good against Zed.

Pick Annie/Malz and just win lane. Also, Zhonya's actually an OK buy now. So actually buy it.
It's a shame you can't just wait to see what your opponent picks and then pick your champion after, huh?
You want to know who my favorite mid/top lane champion in the game that shits on assassins is? 
Seriously, I picked him up back in Season 4 and poured many hours into learning him every time I went mid. Every time there's an assassin meta I have so much fun. Swain is countered by long range poke and being able to tank through his damage long enough for him to run out of mana(Swain out of mana is absolutely useless). Assassins have to get into range to do damage. Now I haven't played him since rework (on a bit of a League break) but it seems like he might be a bit stronger now if I'm reading these changes correctly. His lane pressure against melee/short range opponents is absurd, especially post lvl 6. Even if you don't kill your enemies you'll be 3-4 levels above them because they have to back so often. I've had 
's rage quit, I've seen 
's let me have a free lane pre 6 because they can't even stand near their turret, I've eaten 
sushi more times than I can count. ? You mean bird is Fed? Cancer bird will absolutely trash assassins in the right hands. He doesn't care about your fancy "untargetable" skills because DoTs still hurt even if I can't click on you. Really I think DoT mages in the right hands counter assassins in general. Untargetable doesn't mean invincible. I've built tank 
and trashed Zeds and Yasuos. The best way to fight cancer is with cancer. Swain is often thought to be a low skill champion but mastering his mana problems and his passive takes serious work (his auto attack windup is painful and his autos are super weak so last hitting is a chore and a half, but it's worth learning). In the right hands Swain is insanely strong, I rarely lose with him and I don't even consider myself that good.
Tl;Dr DoT+tankyness>Untargetable bursty assassins.
P.S. Swain is the greatest and ravens are awesome! KAW
