Consistently matching against players significantly better than you are.

For SA, I am Silver 4 and last season silver one. However, in normals I am consistently placed against platinum and diamond players. I know I am at best low gold, if that. Does anyone else experience this issue where they are placed in matchmaking with people much better than they are? and how do they overcome it? I understand normals mmr is different than ranked mmr, but I am tired of either being carried or getting stomped in all of my games. I do not want every normals game to have to be a learning experience because I am forced to play against people better than me, rather than losing to people who are my own level and just outplay me or have the better comp. I also understand that not everyone can carry and I am not looking to carry. I am just wanting to play against opponents my level.

The matchmaking is weird like that, I was about to post about it but god lazy mid novel. I'm silver and play normals with 2 gold friends 99% of the time, sometimes we are matched with and against plats and diamonds. Emphasis on with, it feels kinda fair and even. Our last diamond was learning a champ so we had to bust our asses off to make up for him until he spiked. When a bronze friend joins us we get demolished by unranked folk with 200ish games, nobody is losing the lane hard or feeding but we lose most of the games. When some low level friends join us for a 5 man team from say lvl16 to gold, the lowest member on the enemy team is plat. That is the reason why those low lvl friends are casuals, most stop playing before they reach 30 cause of the frustration.

The matchmaking is lazily designed and there's nothing we can do about it. It's ridiculous that ranked feels like the more casual mode cause you will be matched accordingly. Best advice I can give is not checking the enemy team before the game starts cause that's one sure way to start a game tilted. Another thing that helps me when laning against better opponents- try to outsmart if you can't outplay. I'm kinda (very) old and my reflexes are not all there, plus I'm tired non-stop, best way I can contribute is by not feeding. Playing safe got so deep in my core that I lose cs to avoid taking damage even when playing against seriously bad players but that kinda works for me. Also you won't believe how hard you can tilt or bait someone by playing like a pussy :)
