Season 5/6 compared to 7/8. What is going on with the game balancing?

I just wanted to post this discussion as I can see that the game is not as fun as it used to be in season 5 for example. When I have started league in the middle of season 5 I was placed in gold something and I really enjoyed not just the game but also the EU and NA lcs streams. The game was so well balanced that you need all of these 5 people including you to win a game it is not like today when 1 person can carry even if the other players are feeding. Some of the champions now are so fun to play but they are the most broken ones and they are either banned or taken. I can remember watching EU lcs toplaners playing udyr top and it used to be kinda fun but now with all of these broken champs you can't actually play what you want and you have to stick with the meta.

Riot changed to focusing on the 20 minute Asian cafe markets instead of caring for the rest of their worldly playerbase, and hence Runes Reforged came and ruined everything.

It's so frustrating to see the game you love turn into something yuck. :(

Yeah...runes reforged the thing that got rid of the thing everyone complained about but sure it ruined everything. All that "innovation" that never existed gone. All the different paths no one cared to go for. The biggest IP sink in the game that literally only gave you stats and that unless you had the most optimal runes you were putting yourself in such a handicap. Please don't even pretend that the old runes were anything but an archaic thing that really didn't offer anything whatsoever

People loved to go different paths that worked for their favorite champions, which you can't do so now. They pigeonholed us into even more simple paths and less choices because of RR.

Old runes and masteries offered so much more than the crap we have now. And unless you were going for stuff like less time spent dead, you weren't wasting much IP and gaining IP was pretty easy in my opinion.
