Lets make Tristana great again
Does anyone agree with me that Tristanas W should actually work like a legitimate jump and go over abilities (not all, but some CC like jinx traps).

As a Tristana main, I'm all for making her great again. However, I don't want changes done to her Jump. If anything, I'd rather they reverted her range to what it used to be early game. She's so prone to getting bullied in lane unless her support is completely on the ball. Even Vayne, who scales better, has a longer range than she does.
If you couldn't already buffer CC with Tristana's jump, I'd be down for a change like this. In it's current state, it would overload the ability and make Tristana too strong for the wrong reasons.

CC buffering with mobility isn't exclusive to Tristana. Any champion who's already input their cast of their mobility spells who gets hit by CC after the input has already been put in will buffer the CC and suffer it when they land at their destination instead of their start point.
I'm aware that Tristana isn't the only one who can do it, but Tristana and Ezreal have some of the best moves for CC buffering due to the longer cast times and travel distance of the abilities. It's much easier to consistently buffer CC with those two compared to the rest of the cast.
Considering that Trist already gets a reset on assist/kill and it's one of the best abilities to buffer CC with, she really doesn't need any more power shoved into her jump.
We already have one Marksman with untargetability

It doesn't need to be coded as untargetable. It could be simply coded as a blink, like Ezreal's Arcane Shift, so that she's technically not in the path of projectiles cast between her and her destination. The animation and what's actually occurring according to the coding of the game are extremely misleading on Tristana.

A blink is instant though, whereas Tristana's W has a travel time.
Coding it as a blink would mean Tristana would count, in-game, as being at the landing location right as she activates the ability.
This means she can be hit by CC at the other end of the jump before she has even begun to jump yet.

Yeah, but the major confusion for her comes in the fact that she is very VERY airborne during her jump, where logically speaking she shouldn't be hit by ground based projectiles or melees. The animation is completely misleading.

I mean, the same can be said about a lot of jumps in the game, like
E or
E.
Gameplay mechanics should become before realism I say.

Yeah, but most people's understanding of games are based in realism. Like in Mario how you have some innate understanding that if jump into a pit you can't see the bottom of, you will probably die. Most people who are new to this game, and even players who may not be familiar with how Tristana, Sol, or Kha play, will at first apply realism to understanding certain skills they're unfamiliar with. It takes a degree of weird understanding on how the game is programmed to know that these mechanics don't behave how you expect them to be, which is where the confusion comes in, since most games don't require that kind of program understanding.

I mean, the only solution I'm seeing here that wouldn't impact Tristana gameplay-wise neither positively nor negatively is to lower her jump closer to the ground.
However, that just looks... kind of bad, in my opinion.

Yeah, the problem here is that they've put themselves into a corner with an ability design and animation that conflicts with the expected operation. My only other consideration would be to have it be a launch backwards along the ground, like you see in comedies where someone is blasting backwards after a fire extinguisher is exploding in their hands.
yes. it is annoying how a CC can stop you while in the air.
casts E
jumps over it
Riot: nope. you're stunned.
"i was clearly above it! you can't stun me in the air!"
Riot: "fuck you you're stunned"
Casts W then R for a kill
