Nasus is OP

So this is my first time posting, because personally, there isnt much i have to complain about. However, after being flamed at today my teamates after losing lane, i feel a need to get some opinions on this. I'm talking about Nasus. Even at first glance, Nasus' kit just looks ridiculous. While i dont mind some of his kit, there a few things that are just dumb.

  • Ridiculous sustain with passive - Pretty dumb, considering really the only thing you can do against Nasus is poke, and he'll just laugh at you as he lifesteals back up. Once he gets Spirit Visage, its over.

  • A 5!!!! second slow - This is just stupid. This slow literally lasts so long he can Q once, cooldown, and Q again before the slow ends. Im not saying he shouldnt have a slow, but 5 seconds is ridiculous.

  • His Q. - I understand the concept, because obviously he needs something to do damage with. But this is just too much. The cooldown on it is a joke, and it's damage is dumb for such a low cooldown ability. "Oh well just stop him from farming and you'll be fineeeeee". I hate when people say this. It's like telling someone to push a lane against a Heimer. Sure, you can harass him, but in the end, he's still gonna be able to farm. Stupid sustain combined with Cloth5 or Flask3 and he'll just heal it all away. In addition, you get 3 stacks for 1 minion with his Q. Why 3? Why not 1? Veigar only gets 1. Did he do something special in order to get that last hit other than press Q? Also, the mana cost is nothing. Might as well not cost anything. Unlimited farming.

So i ask; what is you're opinion on Nasus? Who counters him, how to lane against him, etc. Because i just have no clue. Like i said, i played a game today against a Nasus, and i chose Jayce assuming that i would probably wanna harass him as much as possible. I swear, i spent more time AAing the Nasus then i did get CS, and he would still just walk up and farm. Cloth5+his passive meant he just shrugged off all my damage. I didnt want to all in him out of fear of his ult. I just dont know. Its not that i dont like the idea of a farming/scaling champion, take Veigar for example. Why cant Nasus be more like Veigar? 1 stack per minion, an actual mana cost on his Q, etc. Anyways, give me your opinion.

Is Nasus OP? If so, why? Dont think Nasus is OP? How do you play against him?

P.S. i feel sooo much better after getting that out >.>

I won't comment on OP or not, but what I will say is I hate Nasus with a passion.

He promotes extremely boring gameplay and the only way to keep a good Nasus in check is by constantly shutting him down and preventing his farm. Which means you can't really roam, even a teleport for dragon out of top lane can be dangerous as it will give him time to free farm.

You basically need to AFK babysit a good Nasus the entire game and let the rest of your team 4v4 just so he doesn't turn into a raid boss.

Its just so frustrating because even in the case you go and babysit him, there's really still nothing you can do. He's gonna get that farm whether you want him or not because of his sustain. Also, lets say you're about 25 mins in and both outer towers are gone. You go top to try and stop him from free farming. You give him one wrong look and that's it, he slows you for the next year and Q's you twice and you're dead. MAYBE uses his ult if you pose a bit of a threat.

Play renekton, force the lane into his turret constantly. He can't keep up his Q farm nearly as well when the turret's taking half or more of every wave. stay with cannon minion waves, W/Q him, E out.

lets not forget the absurdly high mana costs on his W and E, making them totally unspammable. So while yes, his Q has a nice spam rate and can be farmed with easily - if you can bait out a couple Es and heal through them or dash out of a W, he won't catch you and will have wasted 70 -150mana just with W/E. chances are you're still going to do fine if you can roam and pick up something elsewhere.

If you're against a proper team that can peel and keep you away from the carries then it doesn't matter how many stacks you have because you can't use them.

Especially because a lot of the popular ADCs are extremely mobile Kalista Vayne

Personally, I think that anyone with an early game burst and shut him down easily. Riven, Garen are just two that pop right up when you ask about counters. Riven can all in him at lvl 2 and most likely get a quick kill just from her raw damage. Garen with the silence allows you to silence him whenever he is about to Q, making him lose farm. In both cases, once you get a kill or 2 before the 12 minute mark, you should be able to bully him in lane to kill over and over.

Teemo = easiest counter to nasus

Riven eats Nasus's dreams, then drinks his tears as a chaser. Darius believes that the best thing in life is crushing a Nasus, seeing him driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of his Renekton. I'm sure there are others, but in general, aggressive lane bullies - especially those who excel at all-in kills - are very dangerous to Nasus. Yes, Wither is an extremely potent slow, but it only affects movement speed and attack speed. If you can get around those - having some kind of mobility skill, like a dash or leap, lets you get around while slowed, and non-AA reliant characters aren't nearly as impacted by the attack speed slow.
