A big dilemma for League

As a somewhat veteran of League (3 yrs), I'm predicting Riot will have a big problem on their hands - and so far (as far as I know) they aren't doing anything to nurture this problem.

League is a very complex game, and a new player with 0 guidance is going to struggle a lot assimilating to the play style (unless they've played similar moba's). I feel like the tutorial is very essential in terms of bringing in new players. As of now, the tutorial is borderline useless. It gives the player the basic layout of the game, but it fails to dive into the specifics, or especially the universal meta.

There's two different types of meta: The first being the meta of the game, like who goes where (Garen goes top, annie goes mid, ect.), and other general unwritten rules or playstyles that never change and I feel like that sense would be hard to pick up through the tutorial, bot games, and early level PvP without the proper guidance. This meta is slightly addressed, but the second meta is what is not there. The meta of specific gameplay, how games work, what objectives to go to, what to build, ect.

I feel like for a game like League, being knowledgeable of this kind of stuff is essential in understanding how the game works. There's a reason people are leaving League - and that's because people are simply moving on to other games, but that doesn't mean Riot can't bring in a new generation of League players, but they have to work fast.

Also, I would like to add that smurfing is totally driving new players away from the game, so Riot really needs to come up with a way to address this issue (fairly). I'm honestly not sure how to address that problem, and in "lyte" of a certain Riot employee leaving, hopefully we can get a new perspective on how to address this issue.

Lastly, Ghostcrawler has to go. I played WoW, and he ruined PvP. There's a reason him and Lyte are friends. Hopefully Blizzard doesn't bring them in for Overwatch, because they have an outstanding track record of ruining games.

I think riot is in a contest with Eve online to see which game can keep their tutorial pretty bad for longer.
