Changes:
Xerath added to tier 2 – Xerath was an oversight from me with my initial list. I’ve now added him to tier 2 where I feel he fits pretty nicely. Not always sought after but packs a punch and fits in nicely to most team comps.
Nami moved up to tier 1 – You guys were right. I had her slightly too low in this list. Even though she does have a lot of lane counters her team fighting might just be the best out of any pure ranged support (sorry Sona). She can dish out good damage in lane but if she’s getting beat she can always just sit back and sustain. What I love about Nami is the options you feel that you have with her. She fits well into almost every team comp and provides good utility all game long.
Thresh moved up to tier 1 – Feel the same way about Nami as I do Thresh. He’s great in pretty much every team comp and provides amazing utility and catch throughout the game. Despite his nerfs and some counters in lane, he’s still one of the best supports and should rightfully sit in T1.
Zilean moved down to tier 2 – I might get a lot of flak for this but I feel he’s been overrated since he started showing up in the meta. Now don’t get me wrong, Zilean IS still very strong but when comparing him to others and rating them on their potential they bring to a team comp I feel he isn’t bringing as much as others do. His laning isn’t as strong as people believe it is (for support at least) and he isn’t always a dominating mid force. I feel he’s only good if you get a great laning phase in due to the amount of items needed to make him a viable and it takes even more items for him to shine as a support. He is very good but I do not believe he’s ban or first pick worthy.
Alistar moved down in tier 1 – This is only a little baby bump down. The W nerfs hit top Ali really hard while support Ali is still going pretty strong. This limits him a bit as he most likely won’t be seen nearly is at all as much in the top lane anymore. His picking power went down a bit because of this change so we might actually start seeing Alistar slip through the cracks in more professional matches. This is a good thing IMO because he’s fun to watch and play XD.
Corki moved up in tier 2 – I felt I had the Corkster a little too low. I moved him up a bit on the list to compensate.
Elise moved up in tier 2 – Same thing as Corki. I feel she’s really strong still and was slightly underrated from the community for a few patches. As more jungler nerfs have come out she’s proven to still be a force to be reckoned with.
Leona moved up in tier 3 – As far as counter picks go, or right place right time picks I feel Leona has a little more leeway then I was giving her credit for. Even in bad match up’s she can still prove to be extremely viable outside the laning phase and is a superb play maker.
Syndra moved up in tier 1 – She was a little to low for my liking. I feel like she’s one of if not the best Mid lane in the game right now. She has good consistent damage, good burst, great zone control, along with long ranges on all her abilities. She’s the epitome of a hard carry mage from mid lane.

I will add more information to this list as it progresses. For now here at the top 11 champions I feel will give you the best edge in solo queue. They are listed in no specific order, more as a blank statement to what I feel is good for each role to climb with.
**** READ BEFORE COMMENTING **** This is a tier list that focuses on competitive play so it will not reflect solo queue at all. These aren't in perfect order but I tried my best to list them in terms of strength and picking power. Picking power is their ability to be openly picked with little to no counters while giving you the ability to hide the rest of your composition to allow your team mates to counter pick other roles or build off of said champion picked. I hope you enjoy my little tier list I threw together. If I am missing anything here let me know in the comments and most of all TELL ME WHY so we can discuss my reasoning or maybe even prove me wrong
T1 - These champions are almost all great first picks or great bans. Some can be played in multiple roles while others dominate lanes or team fights. Some champions here are what I like to call "Great open picks" as they have little to no counters and leave your team mates open to counter pick other roles / lanes. Either way every champion in T1 excels at what they do and can fit into any team comp or can have comps built around them. You'll see these champions usually cover all of the bans and be picked in the 1-3 slots.
T2 - Champions in this tier are also great picks and sometimes pull bans due to their strength. They round out team comps very well but don't pull as much weight as the T1 champs do in terms of role flexibility and overall team composition power. Most of these champions are good open picks that allow you to go into lane safely while also allowing you to hide another roles champion so they can counter pick more effectively. You'll commonly see these as your 2-4 picks.
T3 - In tier 3 resides a lot of champions that have the potential to be amazing but need to right mix of champions before they become truly effective. Sometimes they need champions banned out before they can be picked or sometimes they need a champion picked so they may counter it (Nasus vs Maokai, Akali vs Yasuo etc..) These champions aren't necessarily bad but they don't hold the picking power that the other champions do. You'll see these champions usually picked in the 4-5 spots as they're great counter picks or other viable sources to fill and round out team comps.
