Roaming Supports in solo queue... stop. And roaming advice.
As an adc, would you prefer having a roaming support or one that stays beside you mostly? Does having a roaming support benefit the team in any way?
I've been playing with many supports that tend to roam off before 6 ( to do God knows what ). I understand that it (might) benefit the team if the support helps get kills in mid or top, but then the enemy botlane just proceeds to freeze the lane at their turret and zone me out. This really really irritates me because I'll usually miss about 1 to 2 minion waves, having only one ability to pick off minions from far away without getting hooked or snared (or even ganked). That's about the gold equivalent to a kill I reckon. So both ways the team's gold stays the same.
Or maybe right now I'm just extremely tilted from my previous games. FYI: The guy from my previous game had such poorly executed roams that i'm at a loss for words right now. The wave's pushed to the enemy's side and he leaves without bothering to use his sightstone to at least provide me with some vision. I only have one trinket... So if you exhibit these aforementioned actions, please do the following:
1] Ask your AD Carry if he'd be comfortable left alone in a 1v2 situation. If he says no, do not go. I repeat, DO NOT GO.
2] Make sure you leave at a good time, like when the wave is not pushed into the enemy's turret. If not, tell your AD Carry not to push in. Seriously, common sense.
3] Provide ample vision at the 2 main bushes beside lane.
4] Know your opponents. If your enemy botlane is playing blitz or thresh or leona (You get it), it'd be best if you stayed with your AD Carry.
5] Know your champion. Seriously, the guy that played with me decided it'd be a good idea to roam with Janna. Wrong. Here is a list of some semi/heavy CC champions that might just pull off a good roam:
-- Alistar
- Thresh
- Leona
- Taric
- Blitz (Maybe if you can land a hook, but better in lane)
Do not roam with:
- Soraka
- Sona
- Janna
- Nami
These champions are better off babysitting their ADCs in lane.
6] Take note of other variables like what your jungler is doing, where your jungler is, whether your ADC can disengage or has SS, where the enemy jungler was last seen (You can ward their blue/red to check), what champion your mid laner is playing (Whether they can follow up/engage easily), what champion the enemy mid laner is playing (Whether they can disengage easily), and if their summoner spells are up or burnt, you get the gist. Use your judgement.
This should be all for now. I don't know if there is another thread somewhere that gives similar roaming advice, but I really don't give two hoots because the last game really pissed me off.
