I went 8 wins and 2 losses in provisionals and got put in bronze III, But I just don't feel like that's fair placement. Can anyone explain?

Lol I was like 4-6 or something and I got put in Bronze I

Your placement is determined by your MMR, not how many of your placement matches you won (though, your MMR is affected by the wins). 10 wins doesn't translate into Plat 1 and 0 wins doesn't make you Bronze 5.

Here is a rough example of where your MMR was <from Lolking >;

You can see where you stopped playing and it didn't go anywhere, then when you did your placements. You lost some MMR due to the soft reset of the new season (we all lost some), then you won it back by doing good in your placements. You can only get so much MMR out of those matches, though.
