Katarina is disgustingly overpowered

THIS IS A SECONDARY ACCOUNT. I AM SPEAKING FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF MY SILVER II EUNE ACCOUNT 'Xephire'. I was just up for promotion to Silver 1. The Zed in my game gave Katarina 2 kills. She roamed bot and got a double kill in a split second when we were full HP. Zed gives katarina 2 more kills, she comes bot and kills us under turret. Etc Etc, she ended the game with 24/1. This Katarina showed no skill other than the ability to press E, then W, then R and was rewarded with promotion and an easy 20 minute win. How can Riot not do anything about this? I accept she is not OP early game but it's impossible to deal with raw burst unless you have a tank with CC who is fed to high hell in order to live long enough in her ulti range to CC her. Unlike many champs you can't justify her damage with "Oh, she's hard to master" or "Just don't feed her" because her damage mid-late game will allow her to pick up multi kills and get fed anyway. Ridiculous champion.

Just because a player isn't high an ELO as many doesn't mean there opinion is invalid. I have lots of experience of the game I just don't have the patience to fail promos then keep playing. I still know the difference between making misplays against a champion and not being given the chance to make any plays because they can kill me in a split second :) Also this was a game on my EUNE account Xephire

Doesn't make your opinion invalid, but it does dampen it and showcase that it might be wrong, which it is. Katarina is designed to combo kill squishes fast, you are a squishy, in turn, she has no real tankiness and if her combo doesn't kill, she just sits there while you can kill her just as fast because once again, not tanky.

The whole point I'm making is once she snowballs, it doesn't matter if top lane did fairly well and bot lanes is fed to high hell, the game becomes unfair and I have the inability to do anything. Plus this is low ELO where you can barely rely on people to abuse their ability to counter katarina :)

That is your own fault, get better, the game shouldn't be dumbed down for bronze players because you guys can't improve.

Ive read all the comments and I agree with some from both sides but your comment about how she is designed to kill squishy's fast....tho is accurate.....she is still OP after just getting a few kills........more op than any champ in my opinion after just getting a few kills.

One of my latest games I was Gragas.......the other teams Kat got her 1st kill around 6 min mark......after that she roamed top and killed our Riven...after that it was over..she killing our LeBlanc left and right and even going top diving our Riven solo under tower and just deleting her. By time I 1st came against her was around 17 min mark...she already had 11 kills......all she did was ult me and i was dead and didnt even have time to get my ult off to knock her away.

She isn't, they played horribly. The tanks were low and took free damage from turret to let her get reset after reset. Had they played that probably and not taken free turret damage, what would have happened was she would have went in, then instantly died because Leona stunned her.

Depends what the opinion is.

People who are low elo DO NOT KNOW much about this game and how to play it properly. That's why they are low elo to begin with. You people need to know your place and take a nice cup of STFU. You people are inexperienced in this game, you don't know any better.

Wow. I thought his was a joke post. It's just a salt post. I saw at one point you were tristana? Queue up trust ult by pressing r on Kat when she's out of range, if she jumps in, she'll be shot away instantly

By not feeding her. Her entire kit is designed around snowballing, because when she doesn't, she is literally useless. She doesn't provide anything to the team BESIDES damage so she has to get a decent amount of it to even be a viable champion. There is a reason you don't see Kat getting picked at the pro level.

It doesnt matter how bad a start katarina has, I never see one that doesn't recover and get a good score by the end of the game. She always contributes high damage unless the player has Bronze V-level CS

Oh really? And which champion cant own when he gets fed early? Have u tried playing against early fed TF? Or Volibear? Or Trundle?

All of those champions go for one at a time, so can be kited and CC'd, katarina one shots all in her ultimate radius when fed :)

Well the main counter to Kat is hard CC, if you had none when fighting Kat then you deserved to lose.

As for her lane, doesn't Zed counter Kat?

She is an assassin, the whole point of assassins, is to snowball. If you get a lead, take advantage of it, and hold onto that advantage by getting as many kills possible by roaming. Map awareness is key when it comes to not getting rekt by a roaming assassin. To counter-play a kat, you need people on your team with interrupts, such as knock-ups, silences, fears, taunts, etc, etc. If kat gets to last pick because your team has no kind of interrupts, your team built wrong and pretty much lost in champ select. This is just my personal opinion though, and I'm not high elo, so people won't take my opinion seriously, although you can have a LOT of knowledge about the game and still be stuck in low elo. This game comes down to knowledge, so learn as much as you can about how you can counter each champ in the game.

The problem with Kat is that she's too easy to pull off. You basically teleport in and click R. She's even easier than LB. That's what ticks people off.

It's mechanically easy to pull off kat. The window of opportunity for Kat to do this is much lower than any other assassin besides getting in range (which all assassins have to do).

Kat has a lot of counters. I use to play her all the time, and sometimes i still feel the need for that penta ;). She is easy yes. But to be really good at her takes some practice. Maybe not as much as others, but some practice yes. As some people have already said, she has one part to her kit, kill the squishies. If you stop her from getting kills, she is useless. Her AA don't do anything, she isn't very mobile if her e isn't up. A fed kat in bronze is definitely something to be scared of, But all you need is an alistar or blitz(many other options) to stop her. She is easy to counter, but can become very very strong.

Carries are the best for whittling down tanks. Given pretty much anybody can except mages, assassins do a good job when it comes to eliminating the threat to their tanks. Also given the strongly enforced tank meta, having it where they aren't under any threat is highly beneficial to your team. Sad to say that assassins are meta, since that only enforces the tank meta even more since assassins can't do shit to tanks, where mages can, but mages are also fucked by tanks so... Yeah we are going to be stuck in this meta for a while unless Riot decides to stop serving tank players and nerf the class as a whole through itemization nerfs (less health, less resists, cheaper costs).

Katarina is not "OP", she's not even strong atm ... in fact, she's not even meta right now.

There are plenty of other assassins that are far better than her.
