Why the hell should I lose lp/my promos after trying to return to the game and help my team win after being marked for afk? Why does playing for through most of the game suddenly not matter, even if I return? If my internet ever drops and I got marked for afk then its just pointless to return and just be a decent human and help my team?
Hethalean1 votesThe main reason I can see is that NOT punishing it gives people no real repercussions to rage quitting in the middle of the game, and just returning later before the game ends. It's just giving a positive outcome to someone actively damaging their own team.
Now, it sucks that it is that way because of situations where it is genuinely NOT that and your router restarted or something or god forbid you're in windows 10, and it's like "Hey I just downloaded updates on you and installed them. Restarting BABBBBBYYYYYYYY" and you try as you must to get back in time to salvage the situation. I'm just out of ideas for what would be a good solution that isn't abuseable. :/
