rotating game modes - why the deprivation?

I understand that Riot are working on one for all (which I'm not particularly excited about, but thats fine), but I can't see why that stops them from letting us play Ascension, Poro etc. in the mean time. It feels like you are forced to SR, where you generally will have to play the same smaller pool of champions or risking getting flamed by your team, or ARAMS where the game is often decided in the load screen! Not everyone plays to be a pro - some people might play for.... fun... and that includes being able to play a wide variety of champs which is perfect in game modes like ascenion, poro king etc, which only run on weekends anyway.

Not happy with the approach of icing game modes when we know there several that work in the new client etc.
