Silver player here guys. SO ive been playing Flex Que and have noticed when i que up with my friends. I get alot of opponents who are platinum and high gold. As my friends are bronze and silvers we often get stomped on. Mind you that its ok to get stomped on as you progress and learn the game better. However, I have a problem with the matchmaking this pic im going to share is what our average MMR is and vs what we get. The link shows you that our MMR is 1185 and we are playing vs 1713 MMR. I would like to find that developer who cant do math or... sorry cant create a matchmaking algorithm.

This is frustrating. I get it im not the best player in the world here but i would at least like to play with players in our skill level. mind you 2 of our players were gold (Those 2 golds weren't in my party). However combined we are not even close to our opponents MMR. Mind you also i had to report Xerath for scripting. Look i know a scriptor when i see one. This guy never missed an ult or even any of his skills. I think this might be the last season i play. WHat are your thoughts on this and Flex Que?

Gonna get the typical but soloq MMR is separate from Flex MMR response, but that's a major part of the issue. one queue needs to consider the other since it's not like some plat player is going to lose all his skills in a different queue to play at a bronze level. The other major issue is that placement people are ranked too high at silver 2 when a lot of new or returning from long break players are going to be shit and autolose games is the worst say to go.

The other gripe I have is with how the premade are paired. The matchmaking is so fucked up that when there's a group of 3 and 2 vs a 3 and 2 you almost never see the 3x gold with 2x bronze vs 2x gold vs 3x silver/bronze, its always some dumb shit like 3x gold + 2x gold vs 2x bronze + 3x silver/bronze for a total curbing

I agree 100% i am currently playing against plats and golds. As i am silver 5. to climb in Flex is not worth the effort. Also when i was placing in SOLO Q i had won 7 games straight before and had played against plats but i had silvers. Dont know but i think riot needs to re think the MMR system and matchmaking. I just want it to be fair. Ill do the work just make it fair RIOT.

The highest I've ever reached in ranked is Silver 1 (usually getting there 2 weeks before the end of the season), but in Flex I'm Gold 1 now, playing Solo for all of it. I was placed Gold 3, but kept getting matched with Plats. After finishing my promos it bumped me straight past Gold 2, so maybe something similar's in the works for you and your friends.

I have always gone into Flex queue with the mentality "my enemies will be better coordinated, but so will my allies." So far I've been able to make good use of that combination, although I'll admit I've got to pick up my own game if I want to push much further. It's a very refreshing change of pace from Solo Queue though, since I'm actually to the point where it feels like my own improvement will matter rather than feeling like it's a luck of the draw on who my teammates are.

Which brings me to my next point. I dont mind playing against good players but 9/10 if your teammate feeds high elo players, highe elo players know how to take that lead and snowball and close out games. For instance i had a teemo mid. We all told him if can play something more suitible for the mid position he refused and fed. We lost the game cause we didnt have a way to come back from that defficit. As a jungler i cant play the game for ppl. Its tough. On the other hand when i have plats on my team we coordinate better. So i bring up this issue cause the MMR system is matchmaking players of different skill level with better or worse players there is no fine balance. You cn que up and play against bronze players while after that match have golds and plats. I normaly dont bring up things into forums but this patch has made it difficult to enjoy this game. I cant seem to catch a break. The matchmaking has gotten worse. This issue may be the result of a dying game.

It's more likely a result from Flex Queue starting without a pre-existing MMR. If they'd flipped it and kept last season's Dynamic Queue rank as a starting MMR for Flex Queue and let Solo Queue start the way Flex Queue did you'd see the same problems in reverse (Solo Queue would match Bronze, Silvers, Golds, and Plats while Flex Queue would be mostly Bronzes and Silvers or mostly Silvers and Golds)

Flex Queue won't sort itself out until more games are played by everyone involved.

I just hope they fix the matchmaking
