Hello, I am sammythecool (NA) I am trying to know how to be better at riven I recently saved up IP and decided to buy her cuz i got inspired by boxbox but she is really hard to use. People can you help me how to get better at this awesome champion?

She is extremely hard to play properly. Especially animation cancelling. And now that she is so gutted and weak, u need extreme skill to outplay your lane opponents which will usually be Pantheon,Malphite,Mundo,Jax, Poopy, Garen,Darius, Fiora, Renekton. Basically everyone that counters her hard.
Penns1 votesShe might have a hard time against meta top laners atm, but that doesnt make her mechanics harder. You just need to understand how her animations in general work and its not really hard.
NsEternal1 voteswell it was quite an endeavor you have undertaken as she is extremely weak at the moment. you need to build a proper rune page which can cost up to 20k ip if you dont have the proper runes currently as well as you have to master animation canceling in order for her to be effective at a higher level of play. im not saying you shouldnt go an learn her its in fact quite the opposite im happy that you are trying to learn her because she is one of the most skill based champs in the game ( people who think shes broken are wrong) yeah id continue watching boxbox as well as other riven mains to see how they manage lane matchups and when to roam ect. if you need help i can try though im not the best riven player i still know how to play the game well. the most important thing tho is having the proper runes to play her because if not it makes ani- canceling almost impossible and can virtually make riven unplayable. good luck tho

LilStacey871 votesWell, I think you have to judge yourself on 3 main things. What kind of reaction time do you have, what kind of reaction time does your COMPUTER have (lol). And how well are you trading in lane.
Riven is one of those Champs I have difficulty on too, mainly because I lag a lot in teamfights and cant use Valor properly to shield damage. With any champion your using, you have to know the opponent in order to gain an advantage. Using a shield or stun at the right moment is a essential key to winning with her. Also, since her shield scales from attack damage, try not to build items that are too tanky and lean more towards damage since she benifits offensive and defensively from it.

honestly in order to do the really amazing things that make riven stand out you do need mechanics, skill, and game knowledge. Otherwise youre just another Riven. Case in point can be explained by this vid tbh.
