I got perma banned over using custom skins

to any player who thinks its fun to use custom skins (it is very) be careful, because I have been banned for it. the account was l PRIDE l, and it was banned for 3rd party use. I guess since it leaves a message in chat that only you can see, the system decides it as an unfair third party system. this really sucked for me because I wasn't banned by scripting or being the glorious toxic kid. I was banned for personal enjoyment. but I'm way too proud so I made a new account and its been going rough. Anyways enough with the banter, I just want to warn any body using custom skins that they may be banned for it. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

A lot of services that give you custom skins also provide scripts and they have said that the of any 3rd party programs they've not specifically authorized will result in a perma ban. You may be able to get your account back if you submit a ticket but you will not be able to continue using the custom skins

ive tried getting a ticket once a month since February, but they wont respond. unfortunately ive accepted the fact that I'm never getting that account back. but I can keep trying. and I don't doubt mine had a script, but I wish they did a little more investigating, you know?

Wait, I was under the impression that Riot didn't care about use of custom skins, or anything to that effect so long as it didn't create any type of unfair advantage in the game environment.

Did that policy change?

It didnt. But a lot of custom skin programs also include scripts, jungle timers, or other unfair advantages.

@thread Open up a support ticket with riot and link specifically to the program you were using for custom skins so they can investigate why the system flagged you. That is, of course, assuming you werent cheating in some way.

Ah okay, that's news to me. (I never used custom skins, but I know one friend who does like looking through Leaguecraft for new skins to play with once in a while, so I was worried for them for a minute)

Thanks for clearing that up. :)

There's absolutely no need for a skin program to access your chat; if the program has illegal features at all, you'll be punished whether you utilize them or not, so avoid those that do anything at all other than giving a custom skin (though I advise against any mod at all).

Did this program have any additional features (whether you used or not), and what kind of messages did it show you?
