Varus needs a rework or adjustments to go bot lane.

So, Varus is great as a mid caster- being that he can build super slow and be relevant with just a tear and CDR. But in the bot lane... well... You know how that goes.

We need to de-Ashe the Varus. Ashe use to have a toggle slow on her Q- making her abilities limited to just W. This was unsuited for her as an adc as it only provided utility. Varus has a different problem... His mana consumption for trades is INSANE. A tear is MANDATORY.

COST: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 MANA

I got a fix to this pretty simply...

RANGE: 925 - 1625

Make the mana cost scale with the length it is held and adjust the cost.

Cost 35-60, 40-65, 45-70, 50-75, 55-80

This makes him able to close encounter trade in bot lane without going oom after 2 engages.

Let's put this in perspective to other level 6 adcs using their entire combo

Varus: 260 mana (3 Spells) (335-395 dmg)(2 seconds, 167-200 dps) Graves: 290 mana (4 Spells + Mobility) (430 dmg)(0.75 seconds, 573 dps) Ezreal: 274 mana (4 Spells + Mobility) (570 dmg)(1.25 seconds, 456 dps) Corki: 250 mana (4 spells + Mobility) (510 dmg)(2 seconds, 255 dps) Tristana: 240 mana (4 spells + Mobility) (578 dmg)(1 seconds, 578 dps)

Anyone else see a problem with this?

Let's compare the poke

Varus Q: 80 Mana 83-180 Damage (83-90 dps)(0-2 second charge) Graves Q: 80 Mana 120-240 Damage (120-240 dps) Corki Q: 80 Mana 180 Damage (180 dps) MF Q: 49 Mana 50-150 Damage (50-150 dps)

Sure, nitpick the 'math' it's probably poorly suggested. Bad comparisons or whatever you want to call it... But, when is the last time you saw a varus bot lane. When is the last time you have seen a graves or corki? Last game?... Yeeeeeah... The thing about people playing this game- is that they play things that are good or acceptable.

As a Varus ADC main I just have to inform you that the only thing that Varus needs to do exactly what you want him to is get a Manamune. It gives you a decent mana pool and enough damage. This post means that you tried to play him like a regular ADC and that is not how he is meant to be played.

Varus's issue is that he's gimped.

His Q, Piercing Arrow, is pretty much the only actual strong ability in his kit aside from maybe his ultimate. It is a high damage, high range, low cooldown arrow that can hit the enemy front line and back line simultaneously. It's however his identity and It's a huge part of his theme, so if they nerfed it or just removed it and buffed other abilities, he wouldn't feel the same and Riot will always hold onto a champion's theme regardless of the cost (Kassadin for example, they'll buff and nerf anything as long as he can keep his ultimate).

None of Varus's abilities are necessarily unuseable, his W is pretty good if used properly, and his E gives him pretty good utility with his passive being great if the Varus is doing well but none of them in particular are as strong as his arrow.

i have no problem with adc-varus bot. Essence-rever rush worked pretty well for me so far(still miss the good old times of manamanipulator though)

and yeah nitpick the 'math' is a bad idea, you didn't figure in range, cc or cd, and it seems like you ignored the W procs for his combo, and you left out the total-ad ratio on his Q, which means it will atleast deal 147-282damage from only base-ad. And what are the dps values are about? Thats certainly not the dps of the skills, nor of the aas, it seems like you used damage/casttime, which is not dps, dps would be damage/cooldown on skills and damage*as(if we ignore crit) for AAs. I also honestly have more manaproblems with graves in lane than with varus...
