Unfair matchmaking and MMR.

Hello, the reason why I'm bringing this up is because I'm tired of unfairness and rigged gameplay.

It might seem stupid, but don't go anywhere and read all of it.

Anyways, I started off ranked, because I felt like I could get better at the game and actually climb, but unfortunately I am not able to due to unfair matchmaking. I am currently Gold 4 and I'm on a huge lose streak, because I keep getting matched up against high golds and low platinums for some reason.

And yes, It's hard to carry yourself out of elo, because usually I get silver 1's and low golds in my team, while the enemy team has high golds and low platinums, sometimes silvers and rarely low golds. I don't think that it's my fault just because my mechanical skill and knowledge isn't as good as those platinums and golds I play against. Popping off doesn't win you games, because like I already stated, I don't have mechanical skill to 1 v 5 and many of the winnable matches are getting thrown because of some people like that get caught up in jungle where there's no vision.

So, please. Fix the god damn match making. I am TIRED and FRUSTRATED,

Every time I get a lead and I'm ahead in farm, a god damn ADC comes out of nowhere and starts taking my farm in mid/late game, because apparently her/his botlane tower is already dead and she has to go mid or else she will fall off in farm. And of course, I can't go bot lane, because they already had pushed in the wave and going there to take farm is suicidal.

Maybe I'm just a bad player, maybe I don't belong in gold 4 and riot expects me to climb against higher tier players, because apparently my skill level is the same as theirs, but somehow my team doesn't have the same thing.

I refuse to be a meta slave in order to rank up, because it's boring and desperate, anybody can get to platinum abusing nunu if they know how to utilize him.

If anything your match history shows the system is doing its job correctly.

Matches show team with unranked and gold 4s bestIng teams with gold 1’s and 2’s.

If you are having trouble climbing up have nobody to blame but yourself

MM is RNG within MMR ranges. RNG is fair in that it never cares about any 1 player. It does not rigg a game one way or another. "Luck: As proven by casinos is defeated by larger enough numbers. "coinflips" for example have almost impossible odds for 100 head or tails. 2^100. This is an absolutely massive number with something like 10 commas involved. Even 20 games, 2^20 is a pretty massive 1,048,576 to one odds. It only grows exponentially another 10 wins/losses to that streak would be, 2^30 so 1,073,741,824. For perspective, 1mill seconds is about 14 days and 1 billion seconds is 32 years.

Good MMR MM is to prevent the Gap of assigned MMR values from reaching a range you expect to be almost unwinniable. Riot fails this somewhat with their implementation of duoing/grouping. The example of dam near impossible to win shows up a lot in Normals when 1 role is far below their opponent, theoretically its balanced by having the same on the other team but realistically given the nature of the game this is not always the case.

Events like playing new champions or roles, or having some one in your best players lane at a range of skill they don't get insta stomped will prevent the match from being as dramatically one sided, but if that gap shows up on a different role then it goes back to being 1 sided. Probally the reason Why Riots so enamored with the idea of Positional MM this season... Thing is Positional MM makes your Tiers far less accurate as indicators of player skill... and Tiers are all we see. Providing the

To an extent we still have issues with ranges in Solo/Duo because Duoing is made of Tiers, not hidden MMR. Tiers are inherently inaccurate at low # games. I strongly encourage riot to Change their Duo restrictions to be a range of probably (1C). C represents A gap of 1 class interval when your using logistical Distribution, what this looks like is expected odds of 76% v 24%. In chess that would be around 200 Elo points.... I don't know exactly what that would look like to Riots system hence why I am using the C variable over a specific value.

That being said, at no point does any of that EVER stop some one good from climbing to the correct range. A stronger player is undervalued by the system always. So they have an advantage until they reach a range close to their skill, at which point you start seeing more and more impact of teammates on their ability to win. The class interval is not accurate when the MMR value is not accurate so the systems "prediction" is thrown off.

When you have to count on good teammates or bad enemys your in the correct range for your skill. Because of the nature of a team game like lol, as well as the ever shifting gameplay balance, you have a good bit of wiggle room around your "True" MMR to float around it.

Let me know if you want more information on these systems, they are pretty well documented and I took a lot of time to try and study them. K factor is a huge part of a good MMR system but I know a lot of folks would just be bored hearing about Variables... This wall is a pretty short post on the topic.
