Queue dodge penalty in ARAM

Lol, I didnt know till now how long I must wait after dodge queue, because I almost never do that. But I get udyr now and I dont feel comfortable play him in ARAM, so I dodge 1st time after maybe a half a year and.....15 dodge penalty?!?! I'm like...WTF Riot? I can understand 5min, but 15min? I never had problem with dodging players, if they dont want to play their champs, they have no option left after rerolls and change with others. And Admit it, some champs u just can't play in ARAM especially if enemy team gets 5 cc champs for example. It is fakin aram game, why should be penalties everywhere, I feel like I'm incompetent to play omg...

The option is to play the game out. It's a little questionable complaining about getting a random champ in a game mode where you get random champs.

It gets more difficult, yes, but not impossible. More importantly, it's random: you're meant to adapt as needed.

My only problem is when you get one of the "Free week champs" item 3070

If you don't want a random, don't play a random.

Udyr is a beast in ARAM. A lot of champions are. It's unfair that other people have to sit in queue for a longer time because you didn't want a random champ.

If you just want to win every time, play bots. You'll never learn anyone unless you play them.

I'm actually behind a steeper penalty because everyone dodges ARAM like it's going out of style. If you don't want to play random champions, why play ARAM?

Some comps are good in ARAM, doesn't mean I'm going to magically stop trying like some cry-baby. I queued, I'm gonna try for a victory.

aram is actually the epitome of tryharding: you are joining the queue saying, "i'm ready to play ANY champ in my pool, in ANY comp, vs ANY comp". if you are THAT incompetent, then stay away from aram, or play badly and let your aram mmr decay and play with others of similar level.

dodging is obnoxious and denies others their random picks. some of them may have sat thru 3 terrible picks just to get a good one, and POOF your dodge erased it. can you imagine the amount of tilt that player is going to bring if he gets a 4th shitpick next game? and it is all due to an unknown, unnamed, cowardly dodger's heinous act. you can't even report the dodger, so all you get is salt and eve.

if you really can't play that champ, ask your team to help you reroll. chances are, someone can help you reroll, especially if it's a free rotation champ (i.e. everyone has that champ too). if there's no reroll option, it's your fate to try out that champ that game. accept it, tell ur team u need a couple minutes to check op.gg or whatever, and get rolling with the most basic build possible.

or, go full troll build. even that is preferrable. i'd personally recommend the full hp + gargoyle + locket build, until they nerf locket's hp ratio. give your team a 2k shield each and nobody will ever complain - they might even honor you.

Getting 15 min ban at first offence is really surprising... I don't believe that's happened to me before. Maybe ARAM and SR share dodge penalties?

Per the official support article, dodge penalty for ARAM starts at 15 minutes. It's to help discourage the rampant dodging in ARAM.

and it's clearly not enough, since i can get 5 queue dodges in a row. it's ridiculous.

the penalty should be either: a) the next aram game gives you the SAME champ you dodged on, or b) at least a 1-day ban from aram queue for dodging

EVERYONE gets shitpicked in aram. the point is to tryhard anyway and figure out some ingenious way to respond. with 7.12 you can run gargoyle+locket+full hp on ANY champ and be a shield bot -- and it works insanely good in aram. so tryhard or gtfo.

Thank you! A shit comp pulling a sick win is the reason ARAM is fun. If it was just stomp comps poking each other out of lane all day, nobody would care. The fun is getting comps you'd never actually roll for and see if they go.

The dodging is ridiculous. I don't know why people bother queuing for a random mode if they don't want a random champ.

I don't want to necro an old thread but I feel like it's relevant - sometimes you just really, really don't want a champion. I don't get why dodging like once or twice is that bad. It's annoying when other people do it, especially if you've gotten a champion you want, but it's more frustrating to have 0 rerolls and have a champion that you know you won't enjoy. Yes, I'm posting this after getting a 15 minute penalty myself. Yes, I'm salty.
