Can Veigar be buffed again?
I have a suggestion about a change that will help Veigars character game play. I do not agree with some of the changes made to him. Starting with his Q ability. This was changed very mildly yet drastically changed his game play. I have no issues with the range or how it can hit more than one target, yet I greatly feel the increased cooldown timer, without any compensation, such as increased decaying movement speed or extra damage or some kind of extra passive, has reduced his ability to kill and only increased his ability to farm Q. Examples I can say to support this are as follows: Because his Q is now a skill shot it has no guarantee to take away any health from the opponent unless you can land his stun. Often times it misses due to flashes and other quick blinks or movement speeds in any direction or because i simply cannot hit the opponents because they are behind minons. Once I have missed this it is likely that I will not be able to get away from or kill that person if we are both engaging for a kill seeing as how his Q is his easiest ability to land besides his ultimate and that Veigar does not auto attack. I used to be able to run away for 3 seconds if my full burst did not kill and I was almost dead, assuming I was still being chased by that person, until I could cast it again and sometimes was able to kill like that. I used to build Veigar with 20% cooldown before his update and his Q had a cooldown of exactly 3 seconds when maxed. Now it is a cooldown of 4.75 seconds with 20% cooldown when maxed and is much more difficult to hit the opponent in lane early game, giving Veigar really no way to pressure, and mid game against anyone, AP or AD though easier against AP. I understand that his cooldown timer was increased because it is easier to farm his Q for increased permanent AP and with his old cooldown timer that would be a little too much AP in such a short amount of time; however, seeing as how his stun cage was nerfed and ultimate was nerfed upwards to 500 decreased damage I do not see why this would be an issue in overall gameplay. I thought in order to fix this if you were to make his cooldown timer back to what it was pre-patch and simply decreased the base damage his W and R that the damage would even out by mid game but be stronger than he currently is now at late game. I do not know if you increased the cooldown timer because you thought it was a very dangerous thing how his Q gives him permanent AP but if you did then please re-evaluate your thoughts on this. If any thoughts are happening to change his Q ability I just want to also say please do not decrease the AP scaling on his Q as it is his most dangerous attack.
For his W (comet) ability I think it is cool how his cooldown timer and mana cost was decreased for this yet I do not find this extremely difficult ability to land, without his stun, any compensation for his other nerfs. Overall I am happy with this change.
For his E stun ability I will agree that the instantaneous appearance of this cage was rather unfair and I agree that the setup timer should be there however I do not agree with how long the setup is. I believe that .75 seconds is far too long of setup and extremely easy to dodge. My reaction time to dodge something I expect is less that .25 seconds as is most gamers that play League. I suggest that the timer be set to .5 seconds or less. This is still a lot of time to dodge but makes it not as easy.
For his R ultimate, I can not understand why you would change the scaling on his ultimate so drastically from 120% scaling to now 100% scaling. That at full build cuts 500ish damage off of his ultimate. He is an AP anti-AP burst champion that does extra damage to AP champions only with his ultimate, but to AD champions this decrease in damage makes him a lesser mage against AD champions especially now. If you want to decrease it can you please change it to 110% scaling off AP instead of 100%? This would make his ultimate a little stronger and a little more dangerous to all the AD champions played top and mid. Or maybe give some special movement speed or anything when he casts his ultimate or have some way to decrease the cooldown on it like Ezreal. In this way he can at least be a little more threatening to every AD mid lane and top lane champ.
Lastly his passive. I love how strong his new increased passive is. He does not have as many mana problems anymore and can sustain better than he used to in lane.
Overall Veigar is designed to use his Stun first then burst which takes alot of mana. His entire kit is based off of this stun. If you make this stun so impossible to land I dont understand why you would make his ultimate of all things weaker. Not only does Veigars characters design rely on his hard to land stun but also on the opponent not being smart or quick and dodging it. In other words it relies on the opponent being bad which should not be the case for any champion. Please consider what I said.
Also just in case any of you reading this disagree because you are offended how I said that you have to be bad to lose to Veigar I would like to give you a tip. When Veigar uses his stun cage walk closer to him instead of running into his wall and then simply walk away from where the W (Comet) was cast. You should live against his Q-R combo, unless your not being smart and sitting in lane with less than half HP against a level 6 Veigar, and if u do live either try to kill him or run and recall. If u cant kill him within 5 seconds after he uses his Q and burst then do not try to kill him.
