Irelia Rework idea
So most of us have heard and probably known for awhile: Irelia's kit is outdated for today's kit standards and frankly, even if I like her I will admit, not very interactive. As a friend of mine years ago put it: "Irelia's just a ball of stats". I don't think that's 100% accurate but at the same time she is very stat checky indeed. I'm a long time Irelia player and I think maybe a rework haul on her W,E, passive and Ultimate are needed. Along with the whole delivering on her being this awesome one man army blade lady with magical psychic swords like her lore and concept art depicted her to be. From what I've heard she is quite high up on the to do list for reworks so maybe this wouldn't at all be what her final concept is like. I just thought it'd be cool to play with a champion like this though.
Irelia rework idea:
Passive: Irelia in addition to utilizing mana for her spells has a Focus bar underneath her mana bar. Irelia gains x/x focus anytime she last hits or damages a minion, monster, or champion. Focus will drain to 0 after x amount of seconds out of combat, and is lowered by x every time Irelia takes damage above x amount (scaling with level, maybe with her max health but that's up to balance team's discretion). When Irelia’s focus bar is above x she gains bonus true damage on hit and at maximum irelia’s bonus true damage becomes even stronger and she gains x flat amount of bonus attack speed.
Q: About the same as now. Focus empowerment: Turns into a line skill shot dash and ups the damage while slightly extending the range. All units between irelia and her destination take x% of the skill’s tooltip damage and are slightly knocked aside (I'm thinking a very very short stun type knock aside). Irelia’s destination target takes full damage and is knocked up briefly for 0.x seconds.
W Swordfall: Irelia utilizes her spiritual energy materialize x/x/x/x/x blades and flings them towards the player’s mouse cursor. Each blade does a flat amount of physical damage and bonus damage scaling with bonus AD. Does not go through terrain or units. If a champion is hit the blade will remain solid and left on the ground where contact occurred for x seconds. If Irelia walks over a blade she recollects her energy and gains x amount of focus. Focus empowered version: Materializes 3 extra blades. Increases the skill shot’s width and speed.
E:
Equilibrium strike: Deal magic damage (scaling with AP) and if the opponent has more % health than Irelia she will briefly stun them, with the duration depending on how much more % health the opponent has than irelia. If Irelia has the same % health or more health than her opponent she will slow them instead for x/x/x/x/x% and for x seconds.
Empowered: If Irelia stuns her opponent she heals up to x/x/x/x/x depending on how much more % health they have than her. If she slows them, Irelia will instead gain a shield for X flat amount (+0.xx AD).
R, Showdown (1st idea): Irelia instantly gains 100 focus and cannot lose it for the next x seconds and expends all her focus to empower her next spell cast or when the ultimate ends.
2nd idea: Transcendent blades: Irelia enters a channel, materializing swords around herself. After X seconds she releases them in an AoE around herself damaging all enemies standing in the AoE. The channel may be released early, dealing less damage. If channeled for the full duration enemies inside the AoE are afflicted with grievous wounds.
