Will supports ever get an overhaul?

As it stands, marksmen and mages have gotten (or are getting) an overhaul in order to "improve" their kits. This is obviously an update of dated champions. One of the most controversial mage updates is of Viktor who, according to Riot, relies too much on his E and with it on cooldown marks disaster for him.

Blitzcrank is the same way in that if he misses his Q or it is on cooldown. he has to either back off or risk being killed. The same concept goes for Nami, Morgana, and a few other supports. I believe that a support update is also necessary although not as many people play support compared to mages and marksmen. This will obviously impact how far back on Riot's list the update will be. As for Viktor, in order to keep him on relying on his E they have buffed up his other abilities to make maxing them over E more desirable.

The same should go for the previously mentioned supports. People may disagree about Morgana and Nami among other supports, but Blitzcrank support is among the worst there is against a team of people who are at least level 30 (implying that level 30s know how to hide behind creeps). I know basing champion balance on the LCS isn't too reliable but if you never see a certain champion in competitive play it is almost certainly due to an inherent fault in that champion's kit. Such is the case for Blitzcrank and other supports and i'd like to see an overhaul in the near future.

TL;DR- Blitzcrank needs an overhaul and a few other supports.

This is my subjective opinion so feel free to enlighten me in the comments oh merciful summoners.

Supports have been getting reworks since season 2, they're in the best place they've ever been right now, and if you're complaining, maybe you'd like to go back to when gold income items didn't exist, there were no ward caps, so any small amount of gold you get is going towards wards and vision. And Oracle's Elixers. And don't you fucking die after you use that Elixir. It costs 400g and you don't have much gold to begin with. The whole reason tank supports rose in popularity over mage supports what for this exact reason. Oracle's Elixir was the only way to clear vision at the time, so it was mandatory. Being a support with no gold income items, you'd be 2+ levels lower than everyone and you'd be lucky to have sighstone and t2 boots at 20 minutes. You'd have to facecheck to put down visions and clear wards, because that's what you did, nobody else spent gold on wards except maybe top laners. And to use a 400g elixir before facechecking a bush only to get 1 shot, watching that 400g that probably took you 10 minutes to earn go down the drain, it suuuuuuuuuuucked. So they went tanky.

The main point of the post was kind of about the sad state of blitzcrank. I never mentioned any items so for you to go off about that is pretty ridiculous and ignorant on your part. You are also implying that I am new or something and haven't experienced playing support without gold generation items and trinkets (which I have). I've mained support since season 2 and I believe I have my highest ranked win rate with Braum or Bard. Basically my post is about support champion balance which includes their KIT and nothing else.
