ARURF - A Proposition.
URF is my favourite gamemode that Riot have ever made for League so far, its so much fun because its so fast, and crazy, but unfortunately, I feel like ARURF isn't as good as standard URF.
This isnt because one game, I could get
(57% Winrate in URF), then the next game I could get
(33% Winrate in URF) because it's randomised, I actually like the random system (I play a lot of ARAM because I like it). My main issue with ARURF is the matchmaking of teams. A lot of champions benefit from the extra CDR and no-mana costs, which means some champs that perhaps **dont **shine as bright in normals absolutely dominate URF. I personally feel that this huge factor isn't taken into consideration, and rightly so, some people will say 'Why would they consider it, it's random', but hear me out.
**Example of real games **
Game One | 14:38
My Team -
42% W/R,
45% W/R,
52% W/R,
52% W/R,
42% W/R.
Enemy Team -
47% W/R,
53% W/R,
55% W/R,
63% W/R,
52% W/R.
_Now, this is clearly a case of just an unlucky draw right? That's fine! Bad games happen! Onto the next one! _
Game Two | 25:50
My Team -
54% W/R,
47% W/R,
56% W/R,
40% W/R,
50% W/R.
Enemy Team -
50% W/R,
41% W/R,
56% W/R,
59% W/R,
51% W/R.

I understand that this is just two games from my experience, but myself and friends have played several others with unfair match-making. So, that brings me onto the point of this discussion: I feel like URF winrates should be taken into consideration when generating the ARURF lobbies, I personally feel like both of these games could have been won in a normal, OR, I think bans should be featured in ARURF, as there are some champions (Fiora, Master Yi, Fizz, Teemo etc) that are difficult to play against, and although they have high win rates, their pickrates don't correlate well, because people pick champions to have fun in URF, rather than to win, e.g.
38% W/R - 13% P/R (this is the highest P/R)
47% W/R - 2% P/R (this is the lowest P/R)
Let me know what you think about ARURF, have you had unfair match-ups during ARURF at all?
