i just want to know on what basis life steal works, like does it heal a certain percentage of damage done or max health ?

Lifesteal heals you for a % of the damage you dealt. If you deal 100 damage on an AA and have 12% lifesteal, you will heal 12 points of hp.

8% lifesteal will heal you for 8 health if you have 100 AD and ignore all of their armor
