7.15 Midlane
In Quick Gameplay Thoughts: July 14, the proposed buffs to midlaners will destroy the current ladder system. The worst parts of this patch are the TF and Ekko buffs. > Mid Lane - Looks to be in a reasonable spot overall, so here we're targeting specific champs we think could get into the competitive pool. That means buffs to TF, Ekko, Ziggs, Xerath and potentially one or two more. We haven't seen artillery champs in pro play much for a while, Jayce excepted, so are hoping to get a bit of spot play on one or two. Buffs will be pretty light though, so that's more a hope than an expectation however.
For the sake of making pros change midlaners(not playing
) the ranked ladder will be screwed.
To prove this look at Korea's Naist's op.gg profile. In a top region at the highest possible ranks TF can be played at 69% win rate. Any buff will make TF mains clearly broken as they can climb the ladder, and low elo players with good positioning will destroy summoners in their rank.
And most people agree Ekko doesn't need to be buffed. His gameplay is simply throwing Q's at lane until 6; then whenever you try to kill him you have to place multiple layers of CC or he goes untargetable and walks away.
TLDR: Riot's proposed changes will make climbing the ladder terrible because they believe that pro play is more important then the millions of people who played ranked.
