tankFizz , tank Ekko , pre releaseDarius .. now Irelia is super strong and cant be dueled or handled. Swain top is a problem becasue u either take tp or bot loses if the other laner tps. so now you cant 1v1 Swain or kill him without ignite early. Graves top is beyond disgusting and you cant 1v1 this champ. Malphite top is basically watching someone with 0 mechanics and full armor outduel and outdamage you with a point and click. Trundle top is unwinnable vs because hes the god of dueling and ganking and damaging and tanking and slowing and stealing stats...

when will we get some love?

check my match history and tell me top lane is fun whatsoever finished playing vs tank fizz who was 3 levels lower and was still close to killing me EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

edit: didnt think too many people would actually care about this. got a lot of comments from 1 trick voli mains to tell me riven/yasuo players are aids and that im bad when i actually have a 75 percent win ratio with both. but jealousy that someone has more mechanics on champions can take people a long way.

I swear, Top lane is where Riot and the Community put the shit no one wants to deal with at the top, whether its consciously decided or otherwise. I mean, really:

Abusing tank items? top lane Hard to balance between jungle and another role/lane? top lane literally broken? top lane frustrating and anti-fun champs? top lane champs no one gives a shit about? top lane

I am a top lane main my self and i main nasus, he's so fun to play if your any good, and I started to play a lot more jg and mid this season, although i have reverted back to top every now and then. Try picking strong picks in the top lane. Also, fyi, the most fucking bs champ that I have ever seen in top lane this season was fiora. Fuck that piece of shit, good thing she got nerfed into the ground.

I love nasus too, and he'd be so much more fun if he wasn't so prone to kiting. But if he had mobility or was less prone to kiting, he'd be the most broken thing ever without nerfs.

Top has always been the filler role for powerful solo picks. It's both the embodiment of Solo and Team play, because it has such a wide variety of champions that can be played in the lane.

Only one I never fought top so far is Swain, so can't say much on him. But I beat Tank Ekko with Mundo fairly consistantly. Ekko can't slowly whittle him down and him building tanky doesn't mean much to Mundo when his Q and E do %damage. I actually made a few Tank Ekkos ragequit since their OP crap failed to even bother Mundo.

Trundle you just have to accept he is a better duelist and don't fight him, suck it up and just farm and be useful later, if you must fight him, make him waste his ult before actually trying to fight him. If he goes all in on you and uses his ult and you escape, he lost a large amount of his power and if you kept your own ult and such, can actually beat him.

Rest can be beaten if you know what you are doing. But different opinions is all.

He has 2 slow and a minor knock up. And 0 mobility aside his haste that doesnt even levels up first.

Unless you are playing a squishy CC-less inmobile anything, you can easily run away if Trundle engages on you.

She was never vulnerable with all that sustain, that zoning slow and her MS boost. Her only point of weakness was building Tear. After, she can get RoA, Abyssal, Rylai's, whichever, especially as a top laner.

Ranged top laners have always resulted in stupidly lopsided matchups. Either engage on them and crush them completely or get poked for 15 minutes with no chance of retaliation.

So annoying that Riot had to show favoritism to any and all mages because of this stubborn community. Anyone can see that balanced midrange mages should have low winrates. They should need to choose their windows of poke&engage perfectly and that will only come with a lot of experience.

I have half a mind to suggest buffing Doran's Shield vs ranged characters, even if that would buff melee mid lane assassins (and fighters) and possibly tank supports.

I'm kinda with you. I have a friend trying to learn top after ages of living in the jungle and when he asks me "what match up isnt super obnoxious to deal with?" I have no answer for him.

I mean, I play Vlad so I personally have no trouble with anything that isnt a decent Riven, but I agree with you in that overall top lane is in a shitty spot.

If it means anything, of the champs you listed; two of them are Assassins abusing tank items and innate poor design, two of them are slated for reworks in the near-ish future, and Malphite really needs gameplay updates. That leaves Darius (who imo is the least cancerous to deal with that you mentioned - which really says something) and Trundle, who is designed to be a god in duels and a royal shit in teamfights unless fed.

You are forgetting the beginning of the season with the fiora fest where she would go full tank and outduel and outdamage anyone. And of course the Quinn spam where u just wanted to tab out than lane vs her. I also remember the Mundo spam where he was there to farm with cleavers no matter what if lost lane or chase u down with cleavers and tower dive u at lv 6 with ult. Or did u also forget the rageblade Rush 0/3 jax that comes back to kill you because he completed his 2500g item.

Also for Malphite try building Wit's end on attack speed champs. He can't fully reduce that with just armor.

top lane has always been where all the broken champs go to play. it takes months for them to get nerfed while the new lucian build took 2 weeks and some change for the entire NA fucking server to know and cry about it.

Even in soloQ, top lane is comprised of champions who: Can fall behind without being useless|Can snowball their lead somehow|Have good TP pressure|Can (counter)splitpush|Can (potentially) survive ganks/dives by themselves in a long lane Any champion with such characteristics will be toxic (to play against). They're almost unbeatable based on what I just described.

That being said... firstly, you seem to be handling yourself pretty well. Secondly, if you're gonna call Irelia unbeatable because of stats, there's no reason not to hate on Jax, Riven, Yasuo or any other duelist as well. Thirdly, come on! Graves is a permapush bot but he doesn't outtrade/range you by virtue of existing as he used to. Not since he needed early crit for his passive AAs. Fourthly, tank Fizz sucks, shut up. Run away when his shark hits you (or don't get hit, works too) and poke/push him in after.

EDIT: WHO THE FRICK BUYS A MANA CRYSTAL ON YASUO? WHAT THE HECK?!

You have 0 reason to buy a mana crystal on Yasuo, it literally does nothing for you. It's even detrimental since your opponents will know that you intend to go for sheen.

To be honest i prefer there being that one lane where you can take the stupidest off meta shit and have at least some chance of succes. I enjoy playing top much more than i do other lanes simply becous of that. Thou most will disagree with me and i cant blame them, when it sucks it sucks but when its fun it sure is hillarious.

Also BTW i saw the whole argument on buying item 3123 spending 800 gold to shut down a champion is a good cheap price to pay.

What annoys me is when champions like Ekko and Fizz can build tank and come Top, out-tank and out-damage you, but nothing is ever done balance-wise. Plain and simple, Tank Ekko and Tank Fizz SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED! It is beyond an alternate build path, its broken, literally not working as intended, gives them an unfair advantage, etc... Akali, Fizz, Ekko, and any other assassin building full tank should not be allowed to deal the most damage while being tankier than the enemy tank.

Certain champions are also just way too strong, Darius Irelia Trundle mainly. They are better than other Top laners in almost all aspects and never really fall off. Also don't tell me "oh just pick Ranged top you idiot" because Ranged champions in top lane are just as cancer as Tank Ekko/Fizz... They are not balanced around being top lane and this unfortunately makes them incredibly oppressive and far too strong early game. They also abuse the Top lane items better than their intended buyers... Also Irelia and Trundle don't struggle all that much against most Ranged champions.

Meh I guess if fiora were to pressure trundle before level 3/4 she could but trundle's kit can deal with her.

However I can see the fight going heavily in trundles favor if fiora is able to hold onto her counter she could somewhat outtrade trundle in a hit and run but trundle will simply outsustain and he can outdamage her trades if he so much gets a bite off or if she's forced to counter/gets baited out of counter.

While fiora COULD win vs trundle like most melee champs I don't see her winning most often vs trundle unless she really plays right and pushing the level 1-4 advantage.
